A really beautiful castle with a fascinating history. We had a brilliant guided tour from Eugene - so informative and entertaining. All the staff we ran into were so friendly and welcoming. Would definitely recommend a visit.nWe visited as a group of friends who work in heritage - and we wish our castle was as beautifully decorated! But ours is a little older!
Thirlestane Castle is an incredible place to visit. The history of the place is truly magnificent. The guide was superb, very knowledgeable and gave a fantastic in depth tour of the castles. There was so much to see and the decor in the rooms was quite magnificent.nWell worth a visit. Superb.
I was supposed to get married here but my ex had other plans. Anyways, the staff were fantastic to work with and, when my wedding was canceled, they offered me a two night stay. I’ve never felt happier. If you’re just visiting or getting married, I’d highly recommend!!
Booked a night in the castle for an anniversary treat. Lovely rooms and a wonderful setting
A fabulous guided tour. The guide answered our questions well. It was intriguing yo hear the myth, history and legends of the castle. The history of the 19 Earls was fascinating. Beautiful decor and fabulous plastered ceilings. An extra gem was all the vintage toys in the nursery. Even an original Paddington Bear.
