A great place for a meal and a few drinks. We had a night out the week when Wales were playing Scotland and met some brilliant Scottish people who were staying here. Great atmosphere and excellent choice of food. Well cooked and good portions and a reasonable price. Will definitely return.

Locally i know a lot of people dont go .during daytime .as the alcohol prices are so low it has its regular crowd of boozy boozers . I do go there for a change on various occasions .each time i go .i am unexpectedly well impressed .the staff are always lovely. efficient .polite .you can see them rushing round to be attentive to everyone and preparing for new guests ..the food that comes out of the kitchens is always delicious .my mind boggles at how can they serve to such a good standard .for such low prices .it is prob cheaper to go there for all my meals .than do it at home .always say i should go more often .and always leave more than satisfied .

Nice food, great deals on food and drinks and good atmosphere. A popular place so getting a table at busy times can be a problem. Has a large screen showing sports. No music

Nice, quaint little town with a lovely pedestrian area where the hotel is. Hotel is nice and clean, friendly staff and convenient to a lot of the area, plus the pub downstairs. Wouldn't bet on wifi though. Spotty and unreliable.

I’m not taken with the pub. If only because the first thing you see (and smell) is the smoking area, which seems to be occupied from about 9am onwards. The pub itself has always been okay. But I hate having to pass through the acrid cloud from other people’s hacking coughs. The hotel however, was a revelation. I was dropping off family for new year. There is a separate entry, so you don’t have to navigate the high spirited or the smokers. After buzzing in, you head upstairs to a well presented reception area. The receptionist is friendly and efficient. When booked in, it’s easy to take a wrong turn on your way to the rooms, but once there, the one my family members had was nicely sized, better decorated than many pricier hotel rooms I’ve stayed in and high enough up that you aren’t bothered by street noise. It was a bargain at £62. You are less than a 5 minute stroll from the train and bus stations, which can quickly take you from the rather quiet (often dull) town centre to the seaside, the valleys, Cardiff, Swansea or the Pines Out of town shopping village
