The hotel is very basic. The room was large but has dated decor and bad layout. I am not sure if a dog had been in the room on a previous stay, as there were dog hairs on the carpet and a suspect brown stain on the carpet in the lounge area!! We had a meal in the restaurant. We had to wait a considerable time for the main course after the starter. As compensation the waitress agreed to free desserts. My friend ordered a creme Catalan which arrived on a slate plate, the fruit coulis sauce dripped off the slate and onto his clothing!! The waitress immediately got a cloth and water. On check out one of the desserts had not been removed from the bill. Despite all this the waitress staff were polite in the restaurant.

Booked a spa package as a mothers day treat for five of us, a couple of us had been very tense and was looking forward to a nice massages to get rid of the tension from our backs and shoulders. Unfortunately we just had a palm rub which didn't do anything but leave us frustrated. Or food which was ordered in the morning for 1.30 didn't come until 2.30 and some orders were stale. Such a shame as we was looking forward to this day together.

Great stay. Clean & comfy, caring & relaxed. Great staff & services. 2 weeks on a working trip became almost a holiday vacation. Very happy to have chosen Heronston - will always come back here for 'work'.

A great place for all occasions, be it weddings, major parties or just a get together with friends. Staff are extremely helpful & professional & the food is excellent. Go on give it a go, sit in comfortable surroundings, eat excellent food & just relax

Good first. Has parking. Very welcoming reception. Good sized clean rooms and comfortable bed. Generally staff were fantastic. What can be improved. The coffee at breakfast was out of a machine and tasted awful. If you could only have fresh coffee it would make the world of difference. Also the cooked breakfast would have been much better cooked fresh.
