Incredible food and tasty drink selection. Recommend you go early. The staff is delightful but the menu tends to sell out fast and the wait can be brutal. The fish & chips is enormous and the steak & ale pie is not to be missed. But save room for the cheesecake, the shortbread crust is a game changer.
This place is the spirit of Edinburgh! Great food vegetarian options yeah! and knowledgeable staff. Even if you see a line it’s well worth waiting. Having been to Edinburgh twice this was the top of my list on both trips. I promise this will be the only place you want to drink!
Cheap beer. Good variety of beer and cocktails on tap. They could do with slightly more alcohol in their cocktails. The live music band was absolutely exceptional. Great vocals and a very nice collection of songs that were performed. Be mindful that the place gets quite packed so this may not be a bar if you are claustrophobic.
A great spot full of history and delicious food. A bit of a wait on a Friday night for a table but definitely worth it. We shared the haggis fritters and had the chicken pot pie.
Amazing lovely staff, delicious food and good selection of whisky
