Great restaurant by the river. It’s a huge place with lots of seating and it has a second floor balcony seating as well which is where we were sitting. The waitresses and host were super polite and kind. I think the decor on the second floor could definitely use a little bit of an upgrade as it felt a lot more shabby than the furniture downstairs but I will say that the mood and ambiance felt a lot more romantic and calmer upstairs. There were lamps and fairy lights and plants so that was really nice - it was a lot quieter and less people upstairs which we also greatly appreciated. We ordered the steak and the Korean burger as well as raspberry spritz and my partner ordered a beer. The steak was super delicious but a tad overdone, not the medium rare I was expecting but still good. The sauce and the fries were super tasty as well. But the Korean burger was to die for, it had all the needed spices and flavours and it was juicy and fluffy. Can’t speak for the beer as I’m not a beer person but I can say that raspberry spritz was divine it was just raspberry vodka with Prosecco so drink at your own caution and definitely worth ordering. Overall it was a great experience, definitely recommend.
We had 2 lovely experiences here in the last month. We came for lunch to check it out for a possible event booking. The staff were lovely and seated us quickly. Kids colouring menus with crayons were easily available and helped with distractions. Our waiter was extremely bubbly, an infectiously cheerful- a great character with the kids and seems to remember his customers. Had us all laughing, especially my 4 year old. She brought her casper Teddy and so they attempted to draw it into my coffee which delighted her. We were offered drink while we waited and orders didn't take long to arrive. The food was lovely, generously proportioned so you get what your paid for and more. Staff checks in once or twice to make sure everything is to your liking and don't hover. We were given a chance to view the rooms available to book at length in order to plan ahead and our endless questions answered. Beautifully decorated, soflty lit and well kept toilets are downstairs and easily accessible by stairs and a lift. Our second trip for a birthday dinner treat for 2 adults, a teen and a 4 year old cost around 90 euro. This included a side or 2, a glass of wine and large drinks. Well worth it and within our budget. I ordered the beet burger which had some sort of mixture underneath including soft onions, herbs and spices to die for. We didn't order desert as we were stuffed and ready to roll. The ambiance adds to the experience, and for a restaurant, it surprisingly calm and quiet. All round a thoroughly enjoyable, relaxed and positive experience. One of our new favourites to add as a regular haunt. Looking forward to our dinner party next month Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian option which is a huge relief when dining out with others who don't have dietary restrictions. Kid-friendliness: Lovely staff, especially the waiter we had both times. Entertained my 4 year old regularly and remembered her the second time which made her day. Lovely character and easily interacts with different ages. Dietary restrictions: We managed to have a dinner that was gluten and dairy free with lots of healthy options. A drinks menu also with non alcoholic drinks that looked amazing.
This is a very pretty spot, and the views from the front table in the window are fab, but the food on the set menu we had was only meh. Of the nine of us only the one vegetarian was impressed, most disappointing were the steaks which were universally reported as being stringy, and the chips cold! Top tip, complain if you’re not happy, we were to giddy to give out!
Excellent experience on Sunday morning. We had a lovely Irish breakfast. Really appreciated the tomato and the bread. Clearly using high quality ingredients. Warm welcome from their staff and great service overall. We’ll go there again.
Great for brunch! We enjoyed the pea pancakes and the Woollen Mills breakfast, both were tasty. Also they have a very nice selection of cocktails. The outdoor enclosed seating area was very pleasant.
The ambience is lovely and the food was so delicious! Portions came in decent size. The only downside is that the service can definitely be improved. We felt that we were being rushed to order. by the manager Not exactly the friendliest lol.
Dined here on a recent family trip to Ireland. While most places are friendly enough to kids, the ones who have clearly thought about the experience for little ones really standout. Crayons for my 5-year-old, a tasty childrens menu and an attentive server who noticed when his paper straw was getting soggy and brought him a fresh one. All of that plus creative and tasty dishes for mom and dad. I devoured the jerk cauliflower steak, and my partner enjoyed the lamb.
Absolutely beautiful atmosphere. Lovely menu with wonderful vegetarian and vegan options. First night in Dublin, so we had to order the fish and chips but would love to go back and try out the other options. Vegetarian options: Beautiful selection
We had great drinks and decent food. The service was great, very friendly and checked in on us to make sure we had what we needed. The food was good, definitely high quality ingredients but for whatever reason felt a little bland. Dessert was very good.
Had my sisters bridal lunch in the river run private dining room and the staff could not of been more helpful. Food was amazing and service was absolutely excellent. Carlos who looked after us all day went above and beyond and all with a smile on his face. The private room was stunning and perfect for the occasion. I would highly recommend woollen mills for any special occasions.
