Great bar with awesome staff. It was quite busy when we arrived, but the staff made all the effort to make us feel welcome and kept an eye out for an open table for our group. Each staff member we interacted with were helpful and friendly. Food was incredibly delicious for the simple bar menu. We ordered the Irish Stew, naturally, and the daily feature which was Lamb Chops with mashed potatoes & gravy with a side bowl of vegetables. Definitely will be coming back at least once or twice more just for the stew before we leave Dublin, it's that good! 100% recommend
Great restaurant - bar in Dublin city center. I had the lamb stew and it was very good and featured a good amount of lamb. My friends had the roast beef panini, which looked amazing as well. The staff here is friendly and knowledgeable. Would definitely go again. Ask for a baby GuinnessFood: 5/5
It's a nice place with good portion sizes. Authentic cuisine with pleasant staff. Well located
We received the best service at The Oval Bar out of all the places we went to in Dublin! Upon arrival we decided to sit out on the terrace but it soon got a bit chilly so we asked the manager if we could move inside, which was no problem at all for him and he moved us inside. Once inside, the service we received from the young waiters was second to none. The tables were really clean and the waiters came over to ask if everything was ok with our food. We ordered the Irish breakfasts and were able to change a couple of ingredients that we didn't like for others. We were also given a very generous amount of toast! This place is a true example of excellent customer service and is clearly run by a very competent manager. 100% recommended.
Great service. Great food! What’s more to say! We went there for dinner and came back to try their breakfast. The Irish breakfast and the Irish stew were delicious!
This was our first stop for a pint and food when we got into Dublin. The bar has some interesting heritage after been destroyed and then rebuilt after the Easter rising in 1916. I loved the deco which was old world. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was good as was the pint. All In all I good visit.
Good food very friendly and helpful staff and a very nice gluten free pint! Pub has character and its own unique personality compared to main stream pubs in the area!
Had a really nice experience here. I ordered the Guinness pie and had it with a pint of Guinness. The meat in the pie itself was incredibly tender and the sauce was flavourful. The atmosphere inside the pub was calm and not too rowdy, but felt very homey and comfortable. Overall, great value for what you pay for and I recommend this place if you’re looking for a laid back, quiet Irish pub in the area.
Great pub feed and beers! The waitress was very prompt and had our orders sorted very quickly which we appreciated as we were hungry! Food was fulfilling and the decor is lovely so you can sit inside and relax for a while.
Go upstairs in the Oval and you will be surprised to find a dining room. They do a fantastic Guinness and the food was delicious. A nice range of choices on the menu, fair prices and big portions of fresh and tasty food. I had the ham sambo - lovely thick slices of ham. My husband had the burger and said it was amazing.Food: 5/5
