First visit to The Woodman on Easter Sunday for lunch.The food was delicious, great quality and generous portions. We ordered Sunday Roast, two Steak Pies and Fish & Chips. Roast came with plenty of veg, a side of cauliflower cheese and extra gravy. Steak pies were very substantial with plenty of filling. Fish was nice and fresh and the chips were amazing. Service was excellent, polite and very friendly staff. Pub was busy, but we were well looked after. Will definitely be visiting again!
Met up with friends here for a meal...We all had different meals and had to wait a while for them which was what you expect if its being cooked fresh.. We all agreed it was one of the best pub meals we've had for a while...staff were lovely too...I had the from the farm share platter pictured was amazing.
Delicious food! Good selection of gluten free and homemade vegan options as the manager is coeliac. Amazing hunters chicken, fish pie and vegan gnocchi! Not just 1 vegan option as well. Lovely beer garden with a play area and dog friendly too!
Lovely pub with parking at the front and a fantastic massive garden at the back with an impressive play area for kids. Such a shame that the staff were very uninterested when I went to ask if we could order some chips with our drinks that we’d ordered 10 mins ago. ‘Sorry we’re fully booked for food’ was the response I got with a very flat and uninterested face and expression. I counted at least 8 free tables for the entire duration of the hour we were there. They could’ve made some ££ off us for just chips and calamari - sad that such a lovely establishment has less than desirable customer service and turning away business. I hope the management picks up on this.
Food was good had the chicken burger without the bun as dont like brioche. Hommade coleslaw was good. Good selection of beer. Calimari was well cooked soft and nice light batter. Food was a bit underseasond and didnt get lemon with the calamari
Great foodie experience, the freshly made pea and bacon soup absolutely brilliant. Fish and chips first class,excellent quality produce super white chunky Fish with crispy light batter. Double cooked chips absolutely awesome. I had the gamon thick and juicy . It's now my favourite place.
We visited the Woodman for a family members wake. Small car park outside, most park on the road. One lady was very welcoming and helpful whilst another lady seemed quite cold and a bit irritable. The sliced meat in the buffet was lovely and good quality. The cakes were a little disappointing, whilst the scones looked to be homemade the rest of the cakes were supermarket bought. Mr Kiplings cut into smaller pieces and supermarket cupcakes. The atmosphere was homely and friendly. I would like to go back to see what the pub meals are like.
Had a lovely meal here. Group of four of us. Tasty sirloin steaks cooked to order and beef and ale pie. Large portions. Friendly staff and courteous service. Will be back.
Booked here for Sunday lunch as visiting local area. Staff very friendly and helpful and food wonderful home cooked and very good portions the dark brownie and cheese board was delicious and very well presented. Throughly recommend and would return if in the area again !
Wanted to say thanks to the team for consistently excellent service and food. Have visited five or six time now and never been disappointed in summer or winter can thoroughly recommend.
