The Spa here is really good - super little gym well equipped; fantastic relaxation room; sauna, steam room, jacuzzi and swimming pool. The restaurant does delicious food - everything is meticulously prepared - save room for the pavlova! Haven’t stayed here but if the spa and restaurant and its immaculate tasteful decor is anything to judge by, you won’t be disappointed! Even though it’s so close to the City Centre, this is a little oasis of calm.
I've come on and off for 10+ years and this was the best experience so far. Spa, reception and restaurant staff all brilliant. Food absolutely excellent. Coffee at breakfast was decent strength which is so rare in hotels these days. Beds very comfortable, room dark, shower lovely. Patio area lovely in the summer with a book. Art deco style is a good choice. Hotel is getting refurbished and is looking smart. 2 suggestions are 1. Jacuzzi is a death trap to get into and the tiles are quite slippy so I would encourage guests to wear flip flops in the pool area. 2. I could live without all the female nude line drawings in the corridors, especially as I definitely don't look like that and I come to a spa to feel better about my body, not worse lol! Thanks to all the staff, we had a great and very relaxing stay!
We have had an amazing time, the spa facilities are amazing and very relaxing, breakfast is great value, and room also amazing. Great value for money. Only downside was that restraint was fully booked until 8:30PM and we were not offered the option to book a table when we checked in. We had to walk 15 minutes to go and eat. Also, you have to pay for parking in the hotel car park which is disappointing. Do not let this put you off though, as the hotel is lovely. Rooms: Nicely furnished, big quality rooms Food & drinks: Breakfast great, can’t comment on dinner.
This was our second stay at the hotel. For us the location is good but at about a mile walk from the centre some may be put off? However there is plenty of parking here, unlike some in the centre. The food in the restaurant was excellent. The local trout was in a very tasty sauce. And there was a good selection of fine dining type as well as "classics" to choose from. Breakfast also very good with a wide choice at the buffet. All in all we were very happy and look forward to staying there again. Walkability: It's roughly a mile I think to the centre. Lots of nice buildings and historical info along the way.
Have stayed at this hotel numerous times. Great location to explore Winchester. Rooms have recently been renovated which are very nice and comfortable. Staff are lovely and attentive. We used to park in hotel car park at the back. However we now chose to park outside the reception area and pay by Ringo app. We have recommended this hotel to several friends who have since stayed and said they were happy with the hotel, staff and facilities. We will definitely return if in the area. Walkability: Walking distance to centre of Winchester, Cathedral, restaurants and historical sites.
Great Staff, Great Rooms, Great Food....Bar is technically 24hrs but they send the expert cocktail makers home so front desk will try but you shouldn't ask for too much. I did. But I'm special...If you for yourself destined for this area in England give these guys a look. I went there for Boomtown Festival which is another post entirely!Rooms: 5/5
This hotel is located right in Winchester and near to all the local shops. Although the rooms are on the smaller side, they were very clean and functional. So no issues giving them a 5 star in that area. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Parking is not free. The meals at the restaurant are pretty good and I really enjoyed their beef sandwich from the bar menu. Morning breakfast was pretty good and you have the option to take to go. Will stay there again if and when I need to go back to Winchester.
A wonderful experience. We checked in after a hard day of loading up as we were moving house and we were lucky enough to be guest of the day. This gave us free parking a free drink, a room upgrade, chocolates in the room and a discount at the restaurant. We got there just in time for dinner and it was lovely. We had grilled fish and sticky toffee pudding and baked cheesecake. The service was great and very attentive. The cocktails and mocktails were also lovely. We would highly recommend it for a romantic break.
Just the one night sadly but it certainly left a positive impression. The car park was a bit tight, however there is a large public car park to the front. Very clean inside and with friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are well-stocked with a broad selection of teas and coffees - and biscuits. Ideally placed for the town, although the city centre is rather long so anticipate a bit of a walk to see everything. The breakfast is really good, a choice of freshly cooked Pastries, fruits, posh cereals and/ or the full English no black pudding tho'. Definitely worthwhile staying here Walkability: Winchester is reasonably flat with pedestrian access alongside some busy roads in the centre. The hotel is ideally placed for facilities such as the railway station and the town centre although note that the main high street is quite long. That said, there's plenty to do as you make your way through the centre. Lots of places to eat drink, shop and sightsee.
I Honestly cannot recommend the Winchester hotel and spa enough. I use this hotel as a home from home. The staff are exceptional and nothing was too much trouble a special mention to the manager Matt has always rectified any issues I've had is extremely helpful and sets a good example for the rest of the team. The rooms are spacious and always pristine. spa facilities are perfect and the food is amazing, great portion sizes and breakfast buffet has always been fresh. If you ever need a room in Winchester this is the place to go.
