One of the best Sunday roasts you’ll find in London! The beef was amazing, gravy intense and rich, roast potatoes nicely seasoned. I could have skipped the cauliflower cheese in the end as it was a little watery, but didn’t detract from the whole experience. Finished off with a delicious sticky toffee pudding, which rounded it out nicely. Terrific friendly gastropub atmosphere, lovely and prompt service. Highly recommend!
We saw the ratings and walked in. Luckily they accommodated us, though table was at odd spot. We had authentic Sunday roast, both roast beef and venison versions. Also tried the scotch eggs, and indeed it was good, even though had black pudding in the mix. Also had the sausage roll which was a big over baked hence dry, but still good. They make their own pale ales. Very nice!
I finally tried a Sunday Roast for the first time since coming to the UK! It felt so nice to have warm and hearty food, and the seasoning was just right. Best of all, the indoor atmosphere was absolutely beautifulFood: 4/5
Incredible staff and accommodating chef. Food is another level for a gastropub. The bone marrow starter was huge and delicious. The burger was perfectly cooked and juicy. My chicken was new and beautifully cooked and presented. The chocolate mousse for dessert was light and adapted for the summer with a sorbet. Parking: Free on side street after 630pm
Sunday roast is off to the best in London. The whole table agreed. Sticky toffee is lit… bring me back, … services can be off sometime… but overall love the placeFood: 5/5
Amazing pub with great choice of drinks and food. Sunday Roasts are phenemonal and will definitely be back to see if I can try their special lamb roast. Did not have room to have dessert but table next to us ordered a Roast Plum crumble which looked divine. Staff are friendly and helpful and very accommodating. We had a 5month old and 3 year old toddler in the group and staff interacted with them without being intrusive. Pub itself is well looked after, good facilities, clean and welcoming. Highly recommend. Vegetarian options: Vegatarian Roast available as well as a selection of other vegatarian appetisers and mains. Kid-friendliness: Kids menu is available, on the day we dined they had kids burger meal, roast chicken meal and I think a fish dish. Highchairs are available but the sofas if seated there are also a good height for toddlers.
Food was fantastic! The portion sizes were very generous for the prices! The staff were so welcoming and happy to go above and beyond on request! The best Daiquiri I’ve ever had! Will be coming back! Food: 5/5
Came in on a quiet evening. There were about 10 other guests with us. Staff was extremely friendly. The atmosphere was great. Food was so-so. Starter was good, although nothing spectacular. Haddock and chips had slightly undercooked, soft chips. Dessert was not a success, it was served on a warm plate so our sorbet and chocolate mousse slightly melted before we even started eating. The chocolate tuile was very chewy and dense, rather than light and crisp.
Thoughtfully modernised, townhouse community space local pub. A corner pub that looks like a Clerkenwell townhouse, modern local. The corner door through lobby into a large hall bar onto a large angular, central bar. Surrounded by exposed, weathered brickwork, opened through walls with modern steels. The industrial conduits to modern wall lamps help the modernised, age feeling. The bar is well stocked on draught & measure the floor & decoration, complete in clean quality. New high backed, leather studded armchairs are fantastic, accompanied with low & high tables for older stools & chairs. Heritage, industrial droplet lamps set the bar scene with a chatty clientel of Clerkenwell locals. Cute modern art pieces compliment older marketing classics & eclectic display art. A good pub with a purpose & community place, tastefully presented to a modern setting.
Sunday roast is a can’t miss. Reservations are recommended, but we were lucky enough to grab a table. Beef was perfectly cooked as was the porchetta. Sides were fantastic as well. The only complaint was that our drinks took forever and came out after our food.Food: 5/5
