Quality Wines hadn't impressed me, but Quality Chop House knocked it out of the park. I went for their set lunch menu- which is a pretty sweet deal at £29. Vichyssoise, leg of chicken, strawberry &cream- QCH took simple, time-tasting dishes and absolutely nailed them. The charmingly old fashioned dining room is very peaceful during lunchtime. It's a great time to enjoy a delicious and tranquil meal.
Outstanding food and service. Great staff who really know their menu and wine list. Hardly noticeable on Farringdon Road, seek out this splendid small dining room for the quality of the food is truly worth the search. We had the sumptuous lamb chop and pork croquettes starters, then the sirloin steak and loin chop with potato confit and Bobby beans. Wow! We savoured this with a bottle of Broilly. Gorgeous.
The fish tails, and monkfish liver: insane. What a great idea for a menu. Unlike anything ive had elsewhere. The pappadelle was handmade. I dislike italian food in london, but this put me in my place. Perfect. The main roast was better than fallow. Never thought I’d say that. The only improvement / suggestion is that the church pews are horribly uncomfortable. Im 5’10 and 117kg, bare this in mind when booking. Ask for a table and chairs. True roast fans will appreciate this: the potatos and yorkshire pudding were proper. Not a thin layer of crust on the roasts, thick outer coating of crust. The yorkshire batter was thick. Could have been a dutch baby.
Great location with history. Great atmosphere and service. We had just some starters and sides as well as dessert as we arrived quite late. The food was very good as well as the wine BUT unfortunately and with respect the mackerel was not worth the price also in higher priced restaurants. This should be a named as a snack with this portion of the size of a coin than a starter. Only worth half the price, sorry to say. This left us with a bit of a downer when leaving…
delicious doesn’t cut it! probably some of the best food i have had in london and the service was outstanding. they even gifted us their beautiful cook book as a memento! 5 stars all around Food: 5/5
One of the best lunches in London. Food and wine amazing, Laurence who served us was knowledgeable and helpful. In particular the brisket croquettes, chicken liver parfait, collar chop and confit potatoes were standouts. Can’t wait to return.Food: 5/5
Come for the meat, stay for the 'snacks'. Had a beautifully cooked Aberdeen Angus steak, but also, several delicious dishes from the snack side of their menu, which were incredible. Beautiful interior and good atmosphere, the staff were very friendly and helpful in accommodating our indecisiveness!
A delightful combination of both subtle and complex flavors. The seats are a bit stiff, like church pews, but they add to the 'we've been here for centuries' vibe. I enjoyed everything.Food: 5/5
Had the best experience ever!!! Food was great, not to mention the famous confit potato The staffs were extremely kind and went above and beyond so that we could have a great time there. Would love to revisit.
A fine dining experience surrounded by exquisite history. The menu offers some exciting options with finely crafted starters, mains and desserts, all of unique flavour and combination. The steaks are scrumptious. Be prepared to pay a fine penny but the quality of service and food speaks for itself. The staff are evidently trained to a high standard and are even keen to give you more on the history, if you ask.
