"The White Horse is situated in the farming village of Sharlston, almost half way between Pontefract and Wakefield.This friendly village pub prides itself on offering quality home cooked food, local craft ales and a fine selection of spirits and wines. We also offer stylish accommodation. All of this is combined within the comfortable and gorgeous setting of The White Horse.We boast a huge beer garden to the front of the pub, with spectacular views all year round looking over to Emley Moor Tower. As well as this, we also have a play area – so the kids can let off steam whilst you enjoy the views with a good pint of Yorkshire Beer!Dogs and children are most welcome in our bar with their well behaved owners."

We booked a table for four at lunchtime. Good idea as they were nearly fully booked! Good choice of drinks at the bar, and wide range of food on the menu. Mainly pub classics, including a range "from the grill". There is also a specials board to add to the choice. Our food was delicious and delivered quickly. The service was very friendly and the atmosphere was pleasant
A little gem, a traditional pub within a lovely setting providing plenty of outside seating with lovely far reaching views. A warm welcome with exceptional traditional home cooked food at extremely good prices, expect a good portion! You won’t be disappointed, they can also cater for larger parties wedding receptions or any other celebrations. Would most certainly recommend.
My husband and I with our 2 year old had an impromptu stop off at this lovely pub. Staff were friendly and accommodating.. my daughter had some tea and loved it. We played outside in the huge garden and had a fantastic time .. will definitely come back for another visit .. as you can see the fresh air and food did the job
Called in without booking at lunchtime, luckily we got a table. The service and food were excellent and I would recommend anyone to pay this pub a visit; although I would suggest booking ahead if you want to eat as it is a popular hostelry. We will definitely be paying another visit.
Lovely place... just wow our family very like their and food amazing very tasty thanks.... First time in there without reservation but they give outside table and that's been that what we want
This is a very nice venue for the loud locals. They are the most important people. Everyone else needs too listen to them. Food average, staff lovely. I won't be going again anytime soon.
Fantastic place, staff,food, atmosphere and great special day in summer. Highly recommended by me and my family. Had an amazing Christmas day dinner too!
Very nice and will definitely be back again. Went for a late lunch of steak pie and sticky toffee pud, all great. Very friendly welcome.
I have eaten here a few times with my family. The staff are very welcoming and we have always had a very good experience here. The food is delicious and they always welcome our little doggy family too.Highly recommended.
Absolutely amazing! Really enjoyed myself with my family the food was just amazing! Me and my family was blown away! we will definitely come here again already added this to my favourites great garden great staff! Its great! Also i got excited this had three onion rings but damn they looked good! 100% recommend.
