Pleasant atmosphere, but can't rate for food or service, as we've currently sat for 45 mins with menus which we had to get for ourselves and still await service. Two serving staff have regularly walked past us and served other tables without recognising our existence.nnUpdate! After waiting another 5 minutes we stopped a passing staff member and asked if we could order food and drinks: we now await these with anticipation.nnFurther update! After a further 20 minute wait not too unreasonable our food arrived, and was well cooked and fairly tasty.nnOverall, this was nothing special - food good, but not really worth the long wait.
Food was fantastic Pork belly, lamb, the steak and ale pie and a salmon and the venue was great- clean and comfortable. However, some of the younger staff let it down by forgetting us a few times to the point we waited over an hour for food and then forgotten again by dessert. The manager made everything right and we left happy. Worth noting, one of our party is coeliac and the kitchen and management handled it flawlessly.
Looking for somewhere for a late lunch, we came across this pub. We got to the bar at 1.56 and were told they stopped food orders at 2pm. Quickly choose 2 items from the bar menu, without any time to consider options.nWe ordered the ribs and a Greek style mezze. Wow! When the food came it was amazing. Large hot portions, well cooked, beautifully presented and very tasty. Excellent value for money and good service.nnAlthough we don’t live locally we will definitely be back.
Lovely place to have a brunch or lunch. Very relaxing ambience. Definitely recommend.
Food was amazing! Incredibly generous portion sizes and everything was so well cooked. Glad I didn’t have a starter though as we were both so full afterwards! The restaurant was very quiet when we arrived so a little lacking in atmosphere but as it got busier it improved. The staff were attentive and were very accommodating to our requests. We had the Pork Belly and stuffed chicken breast and oh my did we choose well! Plates are GIANT so don’t be fool by the photo, portions were massive!
