On having booked for a large party weeks in advance and pre ordered food. It was a very disappointing experience. 2 tables laid in an r shape, so as a group we were separated. We were offered drinks before starters came out and then no table service apart from giving us our meals, which seemed a chore rather than a service. Meals were not enjoyed by most of the group. Steak not nice £30 definitely not worth it. One guest not being able to eat their food due to it being thst awful.nSuch a shame, as have had different experience previously. Over £600 spent and service charge was included even though it was a shocking service. This was a special family get together. We were left feeling deflated and robbed of what should have been a celebration and happy get together.nnAnother couple on a different table had to get up and ask to be served too.
Family trip to visit the Farmer's Dog clarksons place for a look around, we then needed dinner , quick google search turned up the highest rated pub as the White Hart very close by. Even able to book online. We arrived to a lovely pub atmosphere, great staff, and some incredible food pics are the steak , sublime, and the liver and bacon again amazing, highly deserving of the high ratings and highly recommended. Well worth the visit.
We visited on the 24th for my birthday, I ordered the fillet steak which was cooked to perfection and tasted lovely, husband ordered the chicken bacon and leek pie he also said it was lovely. The 2 ladies who looked after us were amazing, very friendly and efficient, a credit to the pub.nThe atmosphere was lovely, a typical cosy country pub which I like.nThe prices were also reasonable. Would recommend and will re visit
A hidden gem if you don’t know the place. I used a last minute google search to find a local pub with food rating for food on the way back from a day out… and wasn’t disappointed at all. Food was excellent and service was amazing. There ample space for parking and the pub was dog friendly. Plenty of outdoor seating with an outdoor menu if you wanted. To summarise: Good Pub, Good Food, Good People
Roast was very good, but soup wasn't the best. Scallops were good. Service was very attentive. Atmosphere was traditional.
