An ideal spot for lunch with a great range of options for all requirements. We were a group of 6 adults and 4 young kids, I can't fault the staff who were attentive to all our parties requests and great with the little humans. Looking at other dishes coming out of the kitchen they also looked great. I would love to have given this place five stars but the price point of the roast dishes felt a little high, the advertised 20% off not covering weekends isn't obvious at time of booking and pre-ordering and there was no mint sauce available for a roast!
Wow, I have to say that the service and food just couldn't be better. We visited today, and the lady behind the bar and the lady serving us were both just so warm and inviting with impeccable manners. Food was great, and what was really refreshing is that they do not automatically add their tip to the bill, which so many now do. This was a big factor for me to leave a bigger tip than what I normally would do. All in all, this place is a real gem
We were a group of three that went for Sunday lunch. We were told there was a large group of 30 at 3pm and to come for 4pm so as to avoid the large group. When we arrived at 4pm we were told we might have to wait for our order due to the large group sucking up kitchen resources. We all had the roast beef, which was generally good - nice roast potatoes - meat quality acceptable. I don't personally like mashed parsnips and prefer roasted, but that was a minor complaint. The main issue I had was with the overbearing passive aggressive service. When the bill was due, the waitress stood over me and said 'I suppose you want me to leave' while covering her face with her hand to avoid any comment or eye contact - the experience was strange to say the least. We felt as though we were being spoken to like we were children the whole time and certainly didn't feel welcome. This is another pub that automatically adds 12.5% to the bill for service. We begrudgingly paid the extra, to avoid a scene, but given the above, were not particularly overjoyed. We have decided to not return as there are plenty of other similar offerings to try around Surrey.
Went for the steak night this evening and the food was delicious! Great value and lovely service from the waitress Anna : Only not given 5 stars for food as the choice of desserts was quite small so we didn't have any but the steaks and starters were great!Food: 4/5
A fabulous pub. The staff were wonderful and made a big fuss of my dog, the food was to die for and the service was delightful. They even kept the kitchen open a little bit longer so I could have their vegan chocolate mousse highly recommended. We will definitely be back. Dietary restrictions: Really nice vegan options on the menu.
Spend your money in businesses that care more about all customers. Others have said it - real missed opportunity. We're local. Had high hopes for what we understand is new management. Really unwelcoming set-up and atmosphere for a local pub for drinks. It seems all about those that know the staff - you feel like you're walking in to someone's house uninvited by the set up around the bar. At last visit seemed like a mother and child on the sofa in pajamas ?! with groups across the front that all seem to know each other. You feel like you shouldn't be there. New management only made set up worse with TV displaying some form of computer games for kids more on the private living room feel, and a gambling machine. They are clearly content with their 'locals'. If you aren't one of them - support other local businesses that want to benefit everyone as there are plenty of nice pubs close by.
What an amazing place with a very cozy environment. The food was amazing. Everything was on point. I had the vegan burger and my partner had the White hart Burger, there is no words to describe how rich the flavour was. The waitress was so polite and so invested in serving us. What a great team. We will definitely go back.
They offered to open up in the morning for us to have breakfast even though we did not stay overnight.. took full advantage of the offer and they confirmed motorhomes are welcome for stopovernight.. Lovely place, nice people, very good foodFood: 5/5
Awful atmosphere. Huge missed opportunity. Relatively new to the area. Wish it was a good local but keep giving it a go and always the same. Unwelcoming atmosphere. Not really set up to just come for a drink - not many places to sit in the bar area. Three sofas make up 90% of bar seating and all face in to the room rather than being set up in confined areas for different people to use so the same group sit across the whole front area. Every time we’ve been in there is a large group taking up all the bar / sofas who all seem to know the staff so feels like you’re waking in to a private event or someone’s living room. Could be really nice if they set the bar seating up better and worked to create a better atmosphere to small groups to come in and have a drink. Hopefully they sort it out as staff are friendly and food is good.
