My favorite pub in Guildford. Small and cosy. Not too loud. The atmosphere is great. Haven't tried food here but looking at the amount of good reviews I'm thinking I must Highly recommend Service: 5/5
A very popular pub amongst the locals. Wood burning fire place, charcoal beams, yellow warm lighting, perfect for a winter evening. The beer are very decently priced also. It is tucked in behind the busy high street. Would highly recommend.Food: 4/5
Called up and asked to speak to the landlord/landlady as I had an interest in hosting a private event at the pub that I wanted to discuss. The lady who answered the call wouldn’t let me speak and said they don’t do sales calls and hung up on me, though it wasn’t a sales call.. bit weird tbh. Oh well, I’m sure there are other pubs in Guildford who will be more friendly and open to this as it’s nothing strange or out of the ordinary for people to host functions at pubs!
This pub did not do food, but the person serving was really nice, helpful and friendly, which is the reason for the high rating. The place was slightly dark and the floor was sticky. ***The owner of this place very nicely took the time to respond to my rewiew. I did not realise that you allow customers to order their own food. This is quite unique. The very prompt feedback is much appreciated. Thank you.***
The Oak remains a lovely traditional in the centre of Guildford. Set back from the busy High Street behind Holy Trinity church it is an oasis of tranquility. It serves a lovely range of beers including HSB, ESB and more.Service: 5/5
Excellent pub. Great selection of beer. Friendly staff. Good location and cosy place with a wood fire inside and small outdoors area.Service: 5/5
I've recently visited this pub just after coming out of the second lockdown and must admit i was pleasantly surprised with the service the treatment and how much the pub changed over the years. The renovation looks stunning, very cozy place, accesible prices and friendly staff. Definetely recommend it!!!
Great vibe with fine beer Such a cool local place to hangout, cozy and warm. There are plenty of choice of beer that you can choose, which I really enjoy. The waiters are nice and friendly. Overall, it's a cool pub you should come once if you're here in town.
Great local , watched the rugby, England v Scotland, pub busy and buzzy, had no problems getting served , as there was enough staff working, great selection of beers and spirits , can't comment on food as did not eat . The pub had people of all ages, all enjoying a good night.Service: 5/5
Charming old pub, chilling out atmosphere sitting close the cheminée...and a great "Classic Hamburger " from local butcher. Strongly recommended to people who like traditional and calm places.
