Just made it on time. We were walking around the reservoir on Christmas day and stepped in here 25 minutes before closing. We were welcomed and served kindly, the lady behind the taps was nice, we were even offered complimentary mince pie too. They were nice, we’ll return soon to try food too.Service: 5/5
Always great food and very good service shame they are giving it up 14th January if you haven’t been you must as it’s unusual to find good food and service in a pub these days and the homemade cheese cake is to die for Food: 5/5
We went for Sunday lunch and thoroughly enjoyed it. Absolutely delicious food and generous portions. The new managers and their staff are so professional but warm and welcoming. The place was packed but nothing was too much trouble. Our friend from France loved the food and the atmosphere too. Can't wait to come back!Food: 5/5
Used to frequently eat here once a fortnight, it was very good. Recently it changed hands, after one visit we now go eat elsewhere. The chips were undercooked, fish was half the size it usually was, got rudely told that Fish and Chips do not come with Garden Peas only Mushy Peas, even though they did Garden Peas with Scampi. Same price as before despite the drop in quality, the atmosphere is still decent but even that was better beforehand.
Used to love the food, but our recent visit was as if we were at a completely different pub. Dogs all off leads, less than welcoming greeting, glasses stacked up on the bar. But the real issue was that the food was just really poor, frozen chips, scampi and pie, we suspected and a funny tasting tomato topping on the pizza. Really hope the new owners take notice of the feedback that we and others have recently shared. Unfortunately we will not be back as Weatherspoons is better value and with the same quality.
Lovely food, good atmosphere but oh the service. Snail speed if they bother to notice you. It seemed like a completely untrained team with no idea how or what to do. Friendly enough but if you need to be in and out in a reasonable time go somewhere else. We fortunately were in no hurry so we had a good time but still if you have to get up and go and find staff it isn't good.
Another family get together, this time at the village of Perry near Grafham water. The wheatsheaf is a beautiful old pub, the staff top notch & the food first class, representing exceptional value for money. Service was perhaps a little slow, but it was a very busy afternoon and the staff seemed to cope marvellously ! We had various dishes, we enjoyed them all, no complaints at all, but I would personally recommend the steak & kidney pudding I had for a main & the apple crumble I had for dessert. Highly recommended ! Parking: When busy, it can be very difficult to find a spot to park near to the Wheatsheaf.
Nice staff, very good music, lovely atmosphere and a delicious signature burger.Food: 5/5
My husband and I went with some friends for lunch today and we had a lovely meal, got a very nice welcome and the service was great. Prices are very reasonable as well. Maria and Amy who served us were very pleasant and accommodating. Will def visit again very soon.Food: 5/5
Such a shame went for a joint celebration of mother's day for me and my daughter in law also my birthday which was the same day should have been a lovely family time together unfortunately after a promising starters which was very nice our main course arrived minus my grandsons dinner which had been forgotten to cook anybody with small children know how important it is to keep the children feed and happy which in turn makes parents and grandparents happy this definitely was not done when his food was bought out it was to hot for my 4year old grandson to eat so after this we left as the baby was also fed up of being in the highchair so long. We went to the counter to pay was asked if everything was OK but when we told the manager about the problem we were told he would tell the boss I just said he was the boss he told me I wish, unfortunately we live in the village have been up to the pub lots of times never before have we had a problem and left feeling very undervalued as a customer such a shame.
