The hotel is a nice facility. Although I often find that stylized edgy places are trying too hard and they lose functionality for the traveler. I realize that hotels need to make themselves stand out to ensure they capture the buyer's attention, and The Westminster does so. Nice art. Decent restaurant and reasonable breakfast options. Decent workout rooms 2-storey and sort of a nightclub vibe for the restaurant at night. Modern rooms and nice rainfall showers. Plenty of dark spaces and shadowy vibe. The room we were provided was, unfortunately stale and musty, like old milk or cheese and was definitely disappointing for the cost of the room. It then makes the traveler think the room is unsanitary and it becomes an investigation to find the offending odor we didn't find it so we just opened the window and turned down the thermostat to keep fresh air flowing. We admittedly just accepted it as we got in very late and we were only staying one night. We did advise staff if the issue and hopefully they will deep clean the space for the next guests. The staff was very helpful and accomodating. The main bed was luxurious and was very comfortable. The sofa bed is, well, a sofa bed. If anyone can make one comfortable, please tell me who as I will buy stock now. It was still functional but a bit of jealousy over the primary bed occupants kept me gnashing my teeth all night! All the pillows were spectacular. The view from the room was great and you could see Big Ben from our room. I'd bet the Thames view is even more spectacular. The overall location is perfect for sightseeing and less than 20 minutes walk to major attractions in the Westminster proper. Plenty of restaurants to choose from. Close to the underground and a quick bus ride gets you to the railway.
We booked this hotel after our original VRBO reservation cancelled on us three weeks before our trip. It was better than we imagined! The hotel was beautiful and the location was fantastic. We were close to Underground stations and within walking distance of many places we wanted to see. Everyone we interacted with was friendly and welcoming. The room was smaller than what we were used to coming from America, but it was absolutely perfect for two of us. We look forward to staying here again the next time we are in London!
Stayed here for a work trip and was not disappointed. The check in process was very quick and easy. We arrived in the morning and all of our rooms were ready for us to check in. The staff are all very friendly and accommodating. The room itself was very clean and nice. Definitely unique with the design. There is a large closet that can hold a lot of luggage and it also has a safe inside as well. The bed was comfortable and there is a nice little desk area to work on the laptop. We also had no issue with the location as everything was walkable or a very short Uber. I would recommend staying at this curio collection.
We've stayed at this hotel over the various iterations it's had since being called The City Inn. It's current iteration hasn't disappointed. The redecorated rooms are clean and appealing. Enjoyable breakfast and services. It's always been kinda quiet at this hotel - probably why we like it. And it's only a short quiet walk to Westminster for the tube. I imagine we'll be back
This hotel is great! You can walk everywhere, the rooms are very clean and bright and the gym was excellent. Loved that there was a second floor restaurant and ground floor dining option and coffee shops/grocery stores nearby to grab small items. Only complaint would be the hallways are extremely dark.Rooms: 5/5
I have been staying at this hotel for up to 5 nights. The room was fantastic and clean the bed and pillows very comfortable. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. Easy to check in and out. The only thing that comes up to my attention. 1. Every time I went to breakfast. There is always an issue with the sitting table. The staff seated me at one table for one, I left my block on the table when I came back to the table there is another guest claim that was their table. I have been watching this every day and it's not only happened to me but to another guest too. I found this uncomfortable and feel awkward. 2. Some staff explain to me if I finished the breakfast put the block down if still have not finished leave the block stand up. Even though I haven't finished my breakfast I just went to pick up something I need when I come back the table was cleaned up. My suggestion is you need to talk to your team about how to handle these issues so won't happen again next time. Other than that was fantastic staying with you
DON’T TRUST THIS PLACE! My mum’s jewelry went missing from the safe in this hotel the day they were leaving and staff were useless in helping! It was at the start of their 6 week European trip after my parents have been through so much with illness and personal tragedies this trip was meant to be their break finally and this is how it started off. All my mum’s jewelry stolen. To the person who took it at the hotel I hope you sleep well at night because Kama will get you one day. The safe was open she knew they were left in the safe they went straight into a taxi to a friends home to stay there and they knew in the taxi. They rang hotel within hours so no new guests had moved in. Rang hotel. YOUR STAFF TOLD HER TO SEND AN EMAIL IN THE MORNING! An email! None of the staff knew who the manager was at the time mum was on hold and they took about 4 phone calls to get back to her. The desk manager said she went and check and so weird but she couldn’t find the jewelry? And said she’d ask cleaner and we never heard back. Instance has asked us to file a police report for theft while I doubt it will be investigated as I’m in a similar line of work, I really hope if it is the staff know who the manager is and it’s handled a bit better than “please send an email when it’s too late to get the left items”.
Staff were extremely friendly and the hotel was beautiful! The guest service representative also gave us a free room upgrade which was unexpected and very nice. We loved the hotel design and aesthetic! The place was very clean and the hotel was a 15 minute walk from the Underground and a few major sight seeing spots like Westminster Abbey. We ordered room service on our last night and it was nothing special—the margarita pizza was a stuffed cheese pizza and the clam chowder was more like a bisque. I’d recommend passing on room service food and maybe try STK or the bao restaurant which seemed to always be busy. Other than that I would recommend staying here!
While this hotel is in an excellent location, I cannot recommend it as a place to stay, given the way the hotel failed to respond to the theft of 240 Euros from our room. I reported this to the front desk, along with a suspicious encounter with a staff member leaving the room and looking very startled to see us outside the door. However, the hotel staff took no action, even though it would have been easy to check CCTV footage and door card reader data to determine exactly who had been in our room, and to ask the staff member we saw what exactly they were doing in our room. The hotel repeatedly made promises to look into the issue, but consistently failed to follow up, ignoring my inquiries. While the amount of money stolen was relatively modest compared to the nightly rate of this hotel, the idea that someone invaded my privacy by looking through my backpack in order to find money to steal is extremely concerning. I find it shocking that the hotel's management team would not be interested in taking action to ensure guest privacy and security.
Wonderful place to stay in the city along with accessibility to main attractions. Staff were cordial and the rooms layouts were amazing. Couple of unexpected things that happened: The cleaning staff unexpectedly kept opening the door couple of times without knocking Secondly, the breakfast concierge failed to ask and provide any hot beverages while seating us. No effort were made to enquire and while away for a refill the table Tag was taken away indicating that we were done with the breakfast when it wasn't so.
