After a long travel day we stumbled into The Speaker to get a nice proper pint and figure out the rest of our London plans. This place was perfect! Cozy, comfortable and great service. Enjoyed our pint next to a little hound puppy who obviously manages the place! Guinness was fresh and hot the spot.Service: 5/5
A cozy and traditional pub in the heart of Westminster! Lively and buzzing with people during peak hours. It is a very small pub but they have some sitting upstairs too.Food: 5/5
A truly great pub to stop by for a pint when you’re in the Westminster neighborhood. Staff are so friendly and knowledgeable. Unique layout downstairs with a nice meeting room upstairs. A really fun spot with an open, airy vibe on warm days and when Landlord is on cask, what could be better??Service: 5/5
Perfect pub for either a good session or to stop by for one love how fast the service is plus they always have a amazing selection of craftService: 5/5
Best original Pub in London! With a welcoming atmosphere, we had such a great time drinking beer and getting to know the locals. Everyone is so friendly and had a chance to meet the owner, Tom who is so down to earth. The bartenders Max and Anya are amazing and gave us the history about real ale. ***Americans ain’t got anything on beer until you come here! Frank the dog left a place in our hearts! Such a wonderful pub to visit!***
Visited during a quiet lunchtime. Excellent cask ales. Well served. Decent pub. It used to be the Elephant & Castle and this newer iteration is much tidier. Beware though, the toilets are upstairs. And the stairs were built in Victorian times so they are quite steep.
If you're looking for a spot that stands out from the usual party scene, check out this hidden gem. It's a small, cozy pub filled with friendly folks and a fantastic selection of cask ales, sure to please any beer enthusiast. The bar staff are super welcoming and knowledgeable, always ready to recommend something great. They don’t serve food, but they’ll suggest nearby places and let you bring takeaway to the pub. And don’t miss out on saying hi to the cutest sausage dog around, Dr. Frank, he's quite the charmer!
Visited this pub for the first time on a Monday afternoon, February 2023 and what a gem! A single, dark wood-panelled room downstairs with tall windows on two sides letting in lots of natural light. The two staff members were both really friendly and were consistently wiping tables soon after customers left. A few daffodils on every table and window ledges were a nice touch, adding to the feeling of a clean & fresh environment. A really good selection of cask ales for the area. My couple of pints of Timothy Taylor Landlord were excellent. Only a few minutes walk from Parliament Square but off the beaten track enough not to be too touristy. I will most definitely return and shall recommend this place to others.
Great place, beautifully decorated and with very kind staff. We found it after walking around the ministry and had two drinks served on beautiful glasses. It was a fantastic rest spot.Service: 5/5
Visited this place on a Saturday evening and surprisingly was very laidback and not crowded with few of the tables filled in. The host was perfect suggesting beer for first timers. The place has a old rustic feeling with the food and the Color. The glass on a rainy night gives just the right feeling
