Lovely place! Food is great and really cheap and great protion sizes for the price! For 4 people :drinks and food cost £34!! Although only con was they forgot a few bits of our food eg:hash browns and coleslaw but that was all. Definitely recommend giving it a visit and there are 3 different claw machines for the kids £1 each!
Delicious food, nicely quiet on a Wednesday afternoon We went back again today Monday just as nice if not better, polite and friendly as always Top tip, skip breakfast as the potions are HUGE
Update** Even worse! I was sent a voucher for the terrible service by their manager. I was pregnant and on holiday and asked how long would the £10 gift card last as there was no date given and it would be a while before we came down again, with no reply. Came 200 miles here today and they would NOT honour it! The manager herself would not take it and made excuses and even tried to give 33% off instead of the £10 off I was given. No end date on the coupon. Two bad experiences now. Absolutely ridiculous! Really really bad! The food had been sat around. The mash potato was solid and brown and had to be sent back, it came back still solid. The veg was dry from sitting around. Both my mother in law and father in law had the same thing and couldn't eat it. Ordered the candy mania but there was no cookie in it and they knew and charged us and didn't tell us. There was half the amount in there compared to the other peoples one we saw but we were charge full price. I would NOT recommend! No apologies for the missing parts of the dessert. Really bad. Update I emailed the Welby, after they commented below asking me to, they re-asked what was wrong in their email and then they never replied again after I emailed back.
This place has gone down hill these past few months. The staff look absolutely miserable what staff they do have left. No napkins, condiments served with food your having to ask. Noone is coming back to ask if the food is OK. I ate there 2 days ago and then got food poisoning. People cramped in one section because there closing sections off, not a nice welcoming atmosphere at all.
Our yearly Xmas venue to meet up with family, unfortunately this visit it was very busy and even though we had booked for our large group, other customers had moved places and caused us to be split up for half the visit. Manager wasn't happy either but didn't want to move the persons involved. Food was a little dry/overcooked and one member had couldn't eat the steak but this was dealt with at the time and a positive outcome achieved. Will be back again and overall good experience
Well what can we say Went today for our Christmas day dinner It was really good, could not fault them for anything. Our plates was so full that the food was nearly falling off And the staff was brilliant, they didn't rush you, after the main they was quite happy to leave you another 5 mins before we got our pudding Would recommend them for your Christmas Dinner it was 101% From the Johnston family x P
Went for breakfast, waited for 30 minutes and finally when I order they didn't had the dish I wanted. Worst place for food in UK. Utterly disgusting service.
We love eating at the Welby. Great choice for vegans, brilliant deals and tasty food.
