Stay away from the White Lion Pub! You have been warned! There are times when I lose hope, and White Lion Pub, Melton Mowbray is one of them. I don't like giving bad reviews and I rarely write reviews. I feel this needs to be addressed and shared with others. I went to this pub beginning on August 2022 in the late evening, I have never been to this pub before and I enjoy visiting new pubs and night clubs. I love meeting people and enjoying a quite drink. I ordered a few drinks from the bar and the bar staff clearly gave me bad vibes from the start, not sure if it was because I was polish and could not understand me or something else. Especially rude and abrupt. Clearly not used to new faces at this establishment. I brushed it off and went to sit on one of the outside tables to have my refreshments, I had noticed how the other pub regulars gave me uncourteous looks in my direction. Again, I tried to ignore the hostilities directed to my presence. I decided to leave after hour, on leaving this establishment, I felt I was in danger of being attacked or worst. The bar door staff seemed uninterested in my personal safely. On returning home, I was glad to be safe and away from this horrendous pub, I will never visit this place again! I would not recommend anyone come to this uninviting pub if you are from outside the area, especially if you are from other nationalities. Beware!
this place is well worth a visit we were only staying across at Premier Inn so was our first time. very clean venue very nice set up with pleasant staff.
Long long waiting times for drinks. Only 2 on the bar on busy night, I'd put that down to bad management as the staff are working hard and are always polite. The DJ spends more time talking over the songs then actually playing them, combined with terrible beat matching to make an audible experience that is almost unbearable. The don't call it the 'white' lion for nothing. I would also like to add that the response from this organisation is shameful, trying to slander my review with a false accusation. I was not in this weekend, nor have I ever encountered a problem within your establishment. Tried to talk to the owner but he refused. Dead dead dead.
I held a surprise 30th birthday at The white Lion at the end of November. They were very accommodating and we were given the section at the back privately which is known as The Lions Den. They gave all guest a wrist band so we just had our guests in our area. They were helpful with letting me go in early to set up and decorate the room. They asked if there was any particular music we would like for the party. Very helpful staff and great location for a party. Highly recommend.
Very good pub with a nice outdoor seating arera and good beer prices and also thanks for the port itvwebt down well our Stilton cheese picnic
