Lovely traditional building with exposed beams and open fire. Gravalax salad was delicious and soup was homemade. Red mullet was well cooked too, even the 'small' plates were very generous. Good value and friendly staff, highly recommend
Proper pub. Proper food. Proper ale. We found this by fluke, travelling back from Lincolnshire. Thanks to Google Maps we popped in. We were not disappointed. Despite our visit being Aug 2020 post lockdown we were welcomed and served like the old days, but with a few safe measures in place. The food was excellent, the service matched that, and the location was perfect. This is a good old traditional pub with plenty of history that you can read about on the walls and very comfortable to be a part of. It’s family friendly and thanks to the great play area outside, good for kids too. Plenty of parking. Free WiFi. Good Beer Guide 2020. Really pleased we stopped.
Our walking club enjoyed a great meal after our walk. Excellent food at reasonable prices. Friendly and helpful staff.
We went for my mother's 80th birthday party. Staff were friendly and attentive. The food was superb. I can see why my parents return time and time again.
Very nice food, well looked after for a family birthday meal. Nice pub!
A lovely place for a drink and meal . It's in a lovely village very picturesque. The food was delicious. Friendly welcoming staff
A properly run traditional country pub. Food is good, beer is good, the views from the garden are stunning. The bar is very nice, tiled floor, large tables and a few stools at the bar. There is a skittle alley and a ptanque court. Highly recommended.
Great menu, superb food, service & staff excellent and location good too. Definitely recommend and will be returning. The landlord even looked up how to pronounce my name!
Magnificent building in a beautiful setting. I've visited several times, including on Mother's Day, and always come away having enjoyed my experience. I believe the pub has been under the same management for quite a number of years and they are doing a fantastic job. An excellent selection of food on the menu, including the dessert menu! I often find dessert menus are boring and monotonous in even the best of dining venues, but here at the Blue Bell I just couldn't decide what to have because the majority of what was on offer took my fancy! The staff are very courteous and well-mannered. We ate our main meal inside but requested to which they were happy to oblige that they bring our desserts and coffees to us, out in the garden to the rear, which has lovely views of the Wreake valley, where you can relax to the sounds of birdsong and horses whinnying in the distance. Would happy recommended to anyone, for any occasion.
An excellent pub that I felt at home in, as soon as I walked through the door!! We were brought here for lunch by friends who live locally and I was very impressed by the good range of beer available, the extensive lunchtime menu and the quality of service provided to our party of four. The beer proved superb and, when it came, the food was excellent!! Only seeing our friends occasionally, we lingered over lunch, feeling relaxed and happy with everything here at The Blue Bell. There's plenty of parking and a large garden outside, with good views over the local countryside. All in all, a really enjoyable lunch!! Thanks to everyone at The Blue Bell in Hoby!! We'll be back!
