We had a joint 50th birthday party in the function room at the Waverley last Saturday and Douglas and his team did a tremendous job from the moment we dropped in for a pint to look at and book this venue a few months ago. On the day itself all the staff were friendly and helpful and really went out of their way to help make our event go with a swing. Natalia did a fantastic job of keeping the drinks flowing and looked after us all evening. The buffet food we ordered for our group was delicious, lots of options to choose from, hot and cold with something for everyone. There was a great range of beers on tap at the bar including some well kept Guinness, I can also recommend the 'Mermaids Tipple' from the cocktail menu. The space was perfect for our party and I can't recommend this pub highly enough.
Fantastic place to relax and enjoy a pint or two! Outside seating area. Dog-friendly Varied seasonal menu with healthy options too. Easy listening background music Staff are friendly & attentive. Definitely recommend.
I went there for drinks after a long walk. We started with nice cocktails and then the food menu got us hooked. It was delicious and a great experience. If you are in the neighborhood, go and try it. If you're not around, well make your way there!
This is a prized local so this might come across as biased, but it’s a great pub. The atmosphere is friendly, like a community and the food and drinks are decent! The staff are always, always, always lovely and accommodating. There was also a huge group for a party and they consisted of dogs, prams and children. So appreciate the staff’s flexibility and patience! Shout out to Douglas and Alex, who when we came in earlier, were juggling a lot of customers! Thank you
Friendly back-street pub serving a range of ales. We used their function room for a wake, and everyone attending was impressed by the quality of the food. Well worth dropping by if you find yourself in the area!
We were traveling through London and stayed at an Airbnb in the area. We had dinner here while watching a World Cup game. The service was amazing and the waiters were all very patient and kind. Nice community environment. Food is fairly priced and tasty.
The things I want from a pub restaurant are: good portions, a warm cosy space, good service and simple good quality food. Unfortunately I only got one of these at the Waverley arms, as the service staff were really nice. However the roast was very underwhelming. There were not enough potatoes, everything was covered in gravy, so all the food including the cabbage was soggy. The meat was also lacking flavour. The main problem though was that the whole room was freezing. People were sitting about in jackets, hats and scarfs. When people requested for more heat, they were told the heaters were on full and it was as hot as it could get. This obviously meant it was not comfortable to sit in and we left as soon as our food was finished. It was all disappointing as the reviews I had read were so good.

Excellent food that was home prepared rather than catering packs microwaved. Good service and the manager was very engaging. Deserts a bit pricy but irrespective of that a five star experience. Come early on a Sunday to avoid the young families but that did not spoil anything. Thanks for a lovely lunchtime.
The burger in this joint is splendid. The staff are lovely and its a great place to bring kids. Lovely local boozer.
