It's an Irish bar so the right , but wrong, place to start a St Patrick's day evening pub crawl. I managed to get in. The rest of our party couldn't as the security guys closed the doors at 6.30 as the pub was absolutely rammed. You can't blame a bar for been popular but we had to move on. Still the view of the city was nice.
Saw it was the time out number one pub and only a 30 minute walk from home. Went with my dog and it was a busy football time. Quickly was told dogs not allowed which was disappointing but understood as pub v busy, but they are not allowed inside. A really nice guy on the door kindly got my pint for me and water for my dog! So potential poor experience made good. Will probably come back without dog another time!
Fun environment good live music We went in to the Skehans intending to stay for one drink. They had a live band on and we were enjoying it so much we stayed for much longer than intended. Great atmosphere and the room set up for the band is great. Would recommend if you like love music and a nice environment.
I wish I'd never been into this pub. My friend ordered a pint of Doombar, which had clearly turned - it smelled sour and tasted of vinegar. We asked twice if they would switch it out for another ale, and the manager refused to do so. They claimed that was how the pint should taste, which was either completely misguided or an out-and-out lie. The building itself is beautiful and the Thai restaurant downstairs was very nice, but the manager of the pub really let the whole place down.
Great experience. Pat the Bouncer is a highlight. Looks after everyone and doesn't stand for bad people. This is an excellent pub with great staff. But kudos to Pat for keeping the area safe.
Lovely pub, shows the Hurling and the Gaelic Football. good spacious interior and good band nights as well. Guinness excellent.
Lively pub with reasonably priced drinks. A group of us came here for a few drinks on a Friday night, I arrived wearing a Victorian outfit, as I’d been to an immersive experience earlier in the day and couldn’t be bothered to get changed! I noticed a few reviewers have made negative comments about the doorman, but I was warmly welcomed. I did receive a few odd looks from other customers, but also a lot of compliments. We had a lovely time here, but I’ve marked them down for the £10 limit on card payments. We are an increasingly cashless society and being penalised because of card charges incurred by their provider is unfair. Or is the minimum payment in place to encourage people to spend more..? Despite this I would come back - maybe in a different costume!
Bf and I went in for a swift pint on pancake day; walked in, got pints, sat down, delightful Irish music being played by some of the patrons! Fun easy going pub with a good busy atmosphere
Great Irish pub. Lovely Colombian music. Doorman Pat is the man. He located my idiot wife's jacket about 90 minutes after she lost all bearings of it. Lovely creamy Guinnesses all the same.Food: 5/5
This is the best pub in London and all my friends would agree, the Thai food on the weekdays is insane and Chico’s roast on Sunday is incredible. A special shout-out to Pat who always keeps everyone safe and happy!
