Friendly staff welcoming environment and pleasant decor. Good for eating a meal with friends family or as a date. Food was hot and delicious, chips a bit too salty but all arrived promptly and staff were very attentive. Wide selection of meat and veggie options plus a selection of salads and healthier options. Extensive drinks menu plus soft drinks teas coffees etc. Will return next time we come over this way. Toilets are very clean and accessed via stairs. I believe this pub also does take out food or home delivery.
Lovely lovely place this is! The decor, location & atmosphere was great. Plenty of parking on site and outdoor seating was beautiful. The staff were pleasant and the waiting time was not bad at all. The food was good, portion sizes were big and it is quite affordable. I had a king prawn starter which I was hoping would be cooked but wasn't not anyone's fault just choose the wrong meal lol The cod fish and chips were good. Plenty of options on drinks and food menu. Check out the pictures! I would recommend and visit again myself Vegetarian options: I didn't check actually but I think they do Kid-friendliness: Yes Parking: Quite a few available Wheelchair accessibility: I think I saw some wheelchair passages Dietary restrictions: They did ask at the reception if we had any allergies. And the menu has all the calorie details per meal which I found disturbing
I absolutely find comfort, and this place, the sofas and chairs, make me feel at home with service! Normally the couch facing the fireplace does it for me. A glass of wine… the King Oyster Mushrooms! I am vegan/vegetarian so this place has yummy foods that are perfect for me. Thanks you Luigi!
Last minute booking for Sunday Lunch, first visit and we were pleasantly surprised, Luigi was a great waiter and Francis at the bar made great drinks! Good variety of veg and non-veg with massive portions! Will definitely be visiting again!
Went out for dinner for my birthday and it was one of the best meals I’ve ever had at a restaurant. Each dish was flawless and tasted so amazing. I only wished I ordered the 8 lamb ribs as they were amazing! Starters came out really quickly, mains took a little longer but totally worth the wait
A good vegan menu for a gastropub, if a little pricey. The service was really good too. We were sat in a strange little side section that was really dark - I think as we were just a party of two. Dietary restrictions: Some good vegan options
It was my anniversary today and the whole experience was excellent, they went above the norm to make our time special thank you Fraser and Giuseppe. Great food also. I would definitely recommend and return.
We went at 2pm on a Saturday, nice atmosphere both restaurant and bar area had a relaxed vibe. Would recommend the Nourish bowl and fish and chips! Really delicious and were polite and friendly staff. Would visit again.Food: 4/5
I went there on a Friday night. It was busy but became quieter after 7:30. We sat nearer the back of the restaurant which had a lovely evening light coming in. Staff was friendly, although when my friend arrived she was not allowed to come through even though we were already there. The hostess insisted she waited for her to come back. The food was delicious. Good menu. Great drinks menu as well. I had the pork belly Bao bun, which was lovely and fluffy. The sauce was sweet and sticky but not too sickly. I then had the seabream that was a very generous portion and delicious. The chorizo could have been a little stronger but still thoroughly enjoyed it. To finish I had a mini desert, brownie, and latte. Gooey and chocolatey. A lovely finish to the evening. The service was a little slow but think it was due to how busy they were, as we were not in a rush we did not mind.
Had high hopes given the menu and pricing for this place, but unfortunately the experience left much to be desired. The physical experience was underwhelming. I initially liked the decor, however, as we sat and had time to look around, the physical space seems unkempt; many many cobwebs in the rafters and skylights, water damage/ damp dropping from the ceiling to the left of the fire place, scuffed and oily paint that could use touching up, and dirty edges where the table is bevelled. While the photos certainly come across as a well presented expensive dish, both my main and starter were bland and left me wanting. The bao bun was underfilled with meat and over filled with lemongrass and veg, and had very little taste of the hoisin duck at all. The main pork belly and scallops was also very disappointing. The scallops were two small medallions, fine, but not worth the £3+ they charge. The pork belly strips were dry and shredded better than they cut. The entire plate is drizzled in a red wine based sauce which tasted burnt to me and effectively worsened the dish in its entirety. I will say the dauphinois were the star of the show and were lovely, and the shard? of pork crackling was alright, considering. My companions food was also a far cry from the description; the starter felt microwaved, it was very tough for chicken. The main burger wasn't served as it was requested we wanted upgraded fries, the burger was over cooked and covered in a terrible fake cheese sauce, bun was also dry odd considering the sauce. Overall the prices were 30% higher than felt suitable and the wait times were frustrating considering it was a Tuesday Eve at 5pm; we waited for 50 minutes between starter and main. Would I encourage friends to try this? No, sadly, while it presents well, there is very little positive about the restaurant.
