Quaint pub on the canal side by the locks. Run by two effervescent ladies who go out of their way to make you welcome. Good menu choice. Well worth seeking out.
Not from the area, just had a dog walk around a mile away and wanted to find a nice pub for a drink before going back home…found this one looked lovely! Parked my car in the car park and had a drink. A month later I have received a letter with a £100 parking fine enclosed from this pub! Absolutely disgusting. How can they expect to attract new customers when they find them for parking in their car park!
Lovely friendly pub. Canalside location. No food left when we arrived. . Will prebook Sunday lunch next time, as they suggest on website, food looked amazing.
Really nice canal side setting. Garden is great for social distancing. Lovely dinner, fresh homemade chilli with a good kick to it! Table service working well with everyone sticking to the new rules.
Excellent pub, with a variety of menus to choose from each day. Situated next to fenny lock, it makes for good entertainment to watch the boats go by whilst sitting outside. Pleasurable experience, especially with a path going to Caldecotte lake. Recommended for a family lunch out.
Pub has a fantastic location, WiFi access was bluntly refused, sasuages were claimed to be 'not frozen'! You decide! No peas but without asking they plonked some 'creamy leeks' on there instead! For £12 it was very disappointing. I will avoid in future in favour of the 'Bull & Butcher just 5 mins away. Far better, friendlier pub with what looked like VGVFM food!
Probably best to avoid. Arrived at 7.30 on a Saturday. Asked if still serving food. Told kitchen just closed so had a drink only to watch others served food. So asked again at 8.00 if serving good and told yet again the kitchen had just closed. Think locals must know about the poor service as the place was virtually empty on a sunny Saturday evening.
A nice spot for a canal or indeed lake walk. We just had coffees as the wood burning fire was lit. Star deducted for the ANPR parking, however the locals made sure we knew how to register, very neighbourly of them. Honest to goodness old school pub, unspoiled by "upmarketism" if that is a word. I will go back for a beer test......it is just a 20 min cycle ride along the towpath.
A good friendly pub. Visited as an away fan. Plenty of parking. Outside seating. Friendly and helpful staff.
Nice pub in a lovely setting next to the Fenny Stratford Canal Lock. Friendly staff and great for a quick pint or a proper meal.
