This place was good. It had quick table service and they had a nice range of beers on tap. The food was decent. The baked Brie I ordered was good but nothing amazing. The sausages were full of flavor. They were always very attentive. I would definitely come back.
Has lots of capacity, great bar area and great vibes! Dog friendly and decent food, with excellent service. Would highly recommend to families with dogs who want to grab a quick lunch or dinner in London. It's busy enough for great vibes but not so busy that you need to bother booking beforehand. Just turn up and they are likely to have space. Food is decent, menu could be expanded a little but it's to be expected from a pub as opposed to a restaurant. Drinks variety is excellent and has wide selection available. Toilets could be much better and need some much needed TLC. Other than that a great all round experience.
Dog friendly pub with great selection of beers, wine and other drinks. Food is great as well.
Not a bad place but the toilets make a really unpleasant smell...they're also flooding in the gents. So, in summary..a smelly pub. Oh, and the Doombar was warm!
We went with friends to have a good meal and a few drinks to catch up. Service was prompt but a couple of waiters seemed to be quite lost as they forgot cutlery, then napkins, then brought water bottles without glasses, etc. One of the waitresses was rude when asked to exchange a meal as it was tasteless and not what expected. Food was ok but nothing outstanding to be honest, especially when you consider the price you pay. Lovely interiors and lots of dogs.. ideal for long sessions and chats with friends. Do not get bottled water as it’s outrageously expensive. Great vibe, cool place.. just a few bits to improve in my opinion..
I love the Volunteer!!! It is has such a homey neighborhood pub vibe but at the same time I find it to be a classier version of a pub where I really enjoy spending my time. Especially now as it has been refurbished it is even nicer. Service and food are great, make sure to ask for Mirko the next time you go to the Volunteer as he is synonymous with the pub for me.
Had such a lovely time at the volunteer! Atmosphere is lovely and the refurbishment looks beautiful. A special shout-out to Asher Laws who was so attentive in getting us the best pints out there! So excited to come back my new favourite pub in London. Will definitely be coming back if Mr Laws is my server ;
It has everything to be an amazing place in Baker street although what I just witnessed demonstrates how low quality this place is. While having food, a lady in a table next to mine had her dog constantly on top of the table. In a place where hygiene is minimally valued this wouldn’t be possible but for my surprise the waiter never said anything and actually found it funny what makes me wonder what are the hygiene standards. No other words than disgusting and ignorance comes to my mind. Animal friendly and hygiene are 2 completely different concepts.
Very authentic and relaxed Pub. Not a tourist place and the food is amazing. Highly recommended
Lovely pub, with great attentive staff. Felt so looked after, especially on my own with my 2 children today. And a lovely pint of guinness to top it off highly recommend!
