Pub was pretty quiet as we came in early on a Thursday evening.. Ordered food and waited for just over 30 minutes.. When it eventually did turn up, we were given wrong order and when questioned the guy who took order who also got us the food out, basically argued the toss that we had ordered it wrong and was our fault. No apologies or clarification, he just walked away. Then later on came with fresh paprika powder in a bowl and said you can add this and eat, as this kitchen what a joke!!!. Had order gammon with chips, peas and pineapple.. came with no peas, when questioned he said they didn't have any.. but he did not mention that when he put the plate on table either. The hotdog my little boy had got hair on it too. Service and food tasted awful/disgusting - never coming back here. Had had a really rough week and came out with family to have some good time, and walked out further upset and disappointed by the service. We gave back the stuff they had given us wrong, along with his paprika powder - and he just took it and walked in. That negative attitude towards people and not even being kind after being wrong, made it a very bad experience for whole family.
An amazing roast, very decently priced. Good size portions, high quality food. Proper Sunday roast. Good relaxed atmosphere. Perfect place to spend the afternoon with the family.Food: 5/5
Decided to drop in after walking the dog around Kirkstall Abbey on Sunday lunchtime. Really warm welcome, including treats for the dog. Had the roast dinner and it was amazing. Lots of thick slices of meat I had Turkey and the other half had be, large variety of veg, roast and mash and a huge Yorkshire…really can’t fault it.
Absolutely beautiful food, would recommend the Sunday sharing platter.! Kid friendly and good choice of kids meals.! Dog friendly with water bowls and treats.! Perfect place to stop off at after a walk round the Abbey.!Food: 5/5
First visit here as we are new to the area. Fancied a quick bite to eat. Menu was fun and inventive. Went for the Mexican loaded chips with pulled chilli beef. Was served with the biggest plate all for less than £6. Incredible value for such a brilliant dish. Highly recommend for a drink and quick bite. Well impressed.

Brilliant place I came again after being there midweek a few weeks ago this time I tried their Sunday dinner and it was lovely, giant yorkshire and the beef was like butter.Food: 5/5
Stopped by as it was Chippie Tuesday, I was not disappointed. I ordered haddock and chips with bread and butter, it was all delicious. Always enjoy stopping in at the Vesper Gate the staff are always friendly and welcoming. Will be back again soon.Food: 5/5
Came down with family for Sunday lunch and it was lovely! Lovely cuts of meat and lots of it, huuuuuuge Yorkshire puddings, and bottomless gravy! Lovely staff too, will definitely be back!Food: 5/5
