We went for lunch as a family group and felt very comfortable from the beginning. Our booked table was set up ready for us with menus to hand. The staff were very accommodating, allowing older children to order from the Seniors menu to get the dishes they really fancied. The food was clearly freshly cooked and came nicely presented. I had the halloumi salad and felt it was great value for money - plenty of halloumi, really nicely roasted peppers, onions and tomatoes, nice fresh salad leaves. The kids loved their burgers after initial confusion over the charcoal buns and chips. The ribs and wings platter was huge, but went down extremely well. I would very happily eat here again.
My girlfriend found this spot after looking for somewhere for us to take her visiting parents for a Sunday lunch. We were all very impressed. A very friendly welcome, excellent home cooked food and overall an enjoyable experience. Nice to see people still willing to take on a pub in this climate and work hard to repair any previous bad reputation, hope they keep it up and we look forward to visiting again soon.
Came for food with my 2 children. Lovely friendly service and the food was yummy. Recommend the Yorkshire pudding wraps and the Sunday roasts oh and the chips are thee best! Yet to try the menu through the week but if there anything like their roasts we will definitely be back.
Visited last week for my birthday meal, 15 of us and we had a feast, Yorkshire pudding was delicious, the pie was outstanding and wow the cauliflower cheese was Devine, defo recommendFood: 5/5
The Neck Oil wasn't very cold, cost £6 for a pint. Place looks really shabby lately. Outside tables had bowls full to the brim of fag ends and litter on the floor, how hard is it to keep things clean and tidy? Toilet rolls and random boxes, crates right next to our inside table. Felt like I was drinking in the store cupboard. All whilst the landlord was sat at the bar doing not a lot by the looks of it. No cuttelry given with food. Had to go search for them amongst all the random stock. Cheesy chips were nice though, so hats off to the chef
The food was really amazing and the quantity is large. So do try the place. Has great interior and has a nice vibe. The staffs are friendly too.
me and my fella came in for the first time tonight. The lovely staff made us feel welcomed straight away and the landlord sat bar side was keen to have a laugh and a joke with us which we enjoyed. would recommend if you’re up this way. walked in on happy hour too getttttttinnnnnFood: 5/5
Jamie and the team could not have done enough for us and the food and ales were very very good. The Sunday roast was the best we have had in Leeds! Huge portion of the highest quality. Super accommodating hosts in a traditional British pubFood: 5/5
Great little quaint pub, lovely food have to admit it was definitely quality and quantity coming back next week for some more lovely pub grub.
Great staff and a warm welcome. I have to say that the overall cleanliness of the pub wasn't great....blu tac on the ceiling from Christmas decorations etc, and the gents toilet wasn't in the best of condition, cobwebs on the ceiling and the urinals were either rusting or stained with dried urine. That said, the food smelled and looked lovely, although we didn't eat there. I'd definitely visit again because the staff were lovely, although I'd expect an improvement of the overall cleanliness of the establishment.
