Had an enjoyable evening listening to fantastic live music in a relaxing atmosphere. The gentleman who I’m assuming is the manager was very friendly and helped with his recommendations for a couple of whiskeys. Finished the night with an Irish coffee. It was delicious!
Stopped to taste some whiskey and have a cheese sampler with the family. The bar manager was a joy, providing an awesome experience and telling us about his history from Nepal. If you want to go to an awesome bar that is family friendly as far as pubs go and where you can get an expert tasting, this is the place. Will definitely go back. One of my highlights for Ireland. Their Guinness bread is excellent. Try the Teeling sampler. I really enjoyed it.
Very late post: I had the Irish bacon and cabbage here and it was decent
Guy that served me seemed a little slow and confused, honestly the waiter appeared to be drunk. I arrived at 9 pm and the kitchen was closed, he kept then correcting my English. Only went there because I was staying at the hotel above and was tired. But the live music duo was very entertaining
Absolutely brilliant place!!! The staff were extremely welcoming and polite. Definitely worth the visit. Hand down the best guiness in Ireland that include the distillery. 10/10 :Food: 5/5
We visited Dublin for a stag do weekend and we had the best night here on our last night. We went in there around 9.30pm and it wasn't busy but still it had that good feel about the place. Soon after live music started and the place slowly filled up. The band was really good playing traditional Irish music and for a few songs they had a man and a woman perform river dance which was absolutely brilliant. Throughout the evening the singer got everyone in the bar involved with clapping and singing. It was fantastic! A great place for a night out. A little slow to get served at the bar but the atmosphere of the place kept us entertained while waiting to be served. What really annoying was that there were 7 of us altogether and the two bar men served 2 of us and then went off to serve another group. And then would come back to serve another 2 of us and off they went again. I got served finally 15 minutes after they served us our first drink. Would have been nice to start drinking the same time as my friends and not quarter of an hour later! And that was when it wasn't busy when we first got in there. Please serve one group at a time. Would have given a 5 star if the service was better. Will go back here again when in Dublin again. And no toilet man which was great!
Nice, comfy place. Great for if you're staying in the hotel, but otherwise also a good place to visit. Every evening after 9 there's live music, with several really nice acts scheduled on a weekly basis. The prices are relatively steep. This pub largely attracts tourists. Meals are also served here.
Nice looking pub, bit quiet when we were there but pints r good and food was good too
We only went in as we where staying at the Blooms hotel that it is attached too. The service was very slow and the staff did find it hard to understand many orders not just from us as a party of 4 but also other punters who where there as well. The drinks are very expensive a single shot of vodka and orange was €10.50 and a craft ale was €6 plus so one round can start adding up very quickly. Live music was on after 9, great traditional irish music. On Monday night there was a band called the Murphy sisters and they where great! We didn't order food here so I can't comment. Seating is a little uncomfortable but keep the drinks flowing you soon will start to forget.
Great atmosphere. Glenn and promise were so helpful and informative and we really enjoyed talking to them. Fantastic fish and chips. So much food I couldn't even finish and I am now a die hard Smithwicks red ale fan. The whole bar is designed to pay tribute to the original guineas vat house from the floors to the walls to the countertops.
