I wrote a review on their venue's google already but.. wonderful food, great staff, and such an amazing place to enjoy a drink or two. We all loved our food from the onion rings to the wraps and the nachos- DELICIOUS!
I go to Sweeney's to hang out with friends and enjoy my time. Let me stress that this should be a 5 star rating but for the managementat least according to the bouncers. A couple of years back I was diagnosed with a stomach condition so I can't drink alcohol, as a result I don't drink when I'm out, and as a result I GET BARRED! I think this is a horrible way to run a pub and it seems to be only on the nights when the pub is popular and they seem to turn people away for their appearance if they aren't drinking alcohol, as 50% of the customer flow don't buy anything anyways. Now as a guy who doesn't drink for a medical reason I think it is an absolute disgrace that I could be barred for not drinking. And in case anybody says that this is not the reason I have been barred I promise you it is. I have been involved in no fights, not even a slightly heated arguement, the closest thing to trouble that happened around me is a mild debate about whatever the days topic was, in fact I haven't even seen trouble the nights I was in Sweeney's and this being only my 3rd month in the City I am outraged.
Great place with the best people of Dublin around. Loads of good music and Craic and one of the best spots to make friends. Check it out soon as they have to close in the end of june unfortunately.
Great place to have a pint and listen to some great live music. Staff is also very friendly. Sadly, I heard it is closing now.
Very trendy bar, looks cool, has cool bar staff and a hipster crowd but took 10 minutes to get served on a Sunday evening, place wasn't that busy and had 3 bar staff only one seemed to be serving the others busy talking.
Best bar in Dublin city! Great life music, great selection of beers and other drinks. And a genuine good vibe/atmosphere
Great craic, especially downstairs. Gets mad busy on a Friday. Always good fun in Xmas lane outside anyway!
My favorite bar in Dublin. Good beer options and three different spaces with live music.
Great staff, varied environment with all types of people, great beer. Overall great experience.
One of the best pubs/venues in Dublin at least until march 2016, set to close soon.
