The best local pour of Guinness in Dublin. Really fantastic bar right outside the Temple Bar area. The Palace was recommended by multiple locals and did not disappoint. Downstairs was very busy but the Whiskey bar upstairs had plenty of seating even the day after St Patty's day. The bartender and staff were kind as always. The upstairs bartender recommended a good pour of their house whiskey. We also had a pint of Guinness. It was indeed a good Guinness as recommended. The decor and atmosphere were top notch and really unique, even for Dublin. The other patrons were by no means unfriendly but less open to conversation than the other more local pubs we have visited. It was the day after Patty's day though. Highly recommended
Fabulously historic bar in Fleet Street. Established 1823. Full of old wood, a well stocked bar with all manner of drinks, a rear seated area which is mostly closed off from the rest of the bar and a fabulous stained glass ceiling light at the rear of the bar. Bar stools are available towards the front with no tables. Men’s toilets are on the ground floor and ladies are in the basement so not ideal for those with mobility issues. Popular bar after work. Was popular with the journalists when the newspapers were based around this area. Not sure if it serves food as I didn’t see a menu. Expensive for drinks! One drink causes plenty of damage to the wallet. Bar staff very friendly and after work, so too are the customers who come in for a quick drink before they head home.
Awesome bar slap bang in the centre of town, came highly recommended and didn’t disappoint point. Serve a cracking pint of Guinness in a authentic bar surrounded by whiskeys and old stuff. Excellent bar to escape the madness of the City.
One of my favourite pubs in Dublin, and definitely one of the best pints of Guinness in Dublin! They also have a really nice Whiskey bar upstairs - used to love the trad music sessions here on a Thursday night pre-Covid - hopefully this is something that returns soon.
This an amazing whiskey bar, pretty much any Irish whiskey you can think of and more is available here. Go for the second floor that has great live music too in the evening.
Doing a pug hopping on our last night a bit drunk and totally happy. This is a happy place. No music when there but plenty of beers and happy people!!!
Sooooo I walked in here because a bartender from a previous place said it was cool.... Iet some AMAZING people... And got drinks in a jiffy. Would definitely come back. Everyone is super friendly.Service: 5/5
Great atmosphère in this very old pub. Friendly people, good prices.Service: 5/5
I visited this bar when I visited Dublin last weekend. Staff were so attentive and the ambience was relaxing and pleasing. The Guinness was great too. I sat at the rear of the bar and admired the pictures and photos of our literary talents. I can imagine them sitting in there back in their day, deep in thought as the clock on the wall ticked loudly. An inspirational place to while away the hours reading or writing or even drawing or doodling. Loved it.
What a lovely spot in D2! Up the stairs and there is a gorgeous snug/lounge. So full of character! This would have been a 5 star review, but when I ordered a port the bartender, on two occasions, served me a spirit measure of port in a highball glass. Port is not a spirit and should be served in a wine or a cordial glass. Nevertheless, as Arnie says, I'll be back!
