Very expensive for what you actually get. Whilst the two rooms we hired were very clean and had all the usual complimentary gifts including fresh milk, this is where the positives finish. Neither room had showers and we had to make do with mixer taps. There was nowhere to hang used towels and the beds were extremely uncomfortable with tired old mattresses. Car parking was extremely tight with very little space for each vehicle. This could have been alleviated by allowing cars to park opposite but for some reason there were 'no parking' signs preventing this. There was no breakfast on offer and the only time we saw our friendly host was on arrival even though we were there for two nights, with us being asked to leave our keys on the desk when vacating the premises for the final time. There were also notices saying that rooms would only be cleaned if you were staying for three nights or more. This is one of the most expensive places I have stayed at, with very little to see for your cash. Money for old rope comes to mind. The house itself is lovely and in a stunning area.
Fab stay in Talybont. Room was very comfortable with quality selection of tea and coffee. Super friendly hosts. Thank you for a lovely break, we would love to visit again
Great overnight stay, warm, welcoming and friendly hosts, nothing too much trouble. Stay here for wedding attendance up the road in Peterstone Court, the room was lovely, clean, well stock with the essentials, highly recommend a stay here xx
We had a wonderful stay here! Clean, quiet, cozy rooms and a great jumping off point to explore the Brecons. Steve and Sam were fantastic hosts who made sure we had everything we needed.
Lovely warm welcome. Felt looked after & all COVID precautions effortlessly in place. Breakfast was substantial & delicious even for vegetarians. Room was pretty & spacious with good hot shower. Located in a very pretty and quiet valley surrounded by green and a variety of good walks of different levels . A car would provide more convenience and options for day trips but we managed fine on the bus from Abergavenny. On our last day we walked along the canal to the next village & picked it up from there. The village store, a few minutes walk away, does great sandwiches for lunch & surprisingly great cocktails! & there are a couple of lovely pub options for dinner. Couldn't imagine a better place to getaway to after a tough year!
