Absolutely outstanding. Food is superb. Decor is beautiful. Service is fantastic. Love this place. I will be back especially for the scallops. One word to describe this place... fantastic. My favourite place.

Went there for 1st time this evening after it was highly recommended. Went for father inn laws birthday also had sister inn law over from Germany. Absolutely terrible food and the service was the worst I’ve ever experienced. Took ages to be seated after booking a table food took ages to come out . A waitress bought food out and spilt gravy over my two children and myself. She didn’t even notice then when we pointed it out to her she didn’t seem particularly bothered just dumped some tissue on the table. Then mine and my daughters beef came out raw after we had requested well done. A waiter took it back twice and was still raw,potatoes were hard meal was cold awful food. Toilets were disgusting too. Awful first experience never again staff are incompetent food is awful and waiting times ridiculous. Embarrassing taking family there ruined my father inn laws birthday.

Good range of ale. The pub is known for its food but I didn't eat there. Modern contemporary style with a real fire.

My partner has taken me to the Trooper as a surprise. It was a very pleasant experience, we really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food which was nicely presented. We had a starter and a couple of pizzas, all were delicious. Someone mentioned the prices are quite steep, they might be a little bit, although it's hard for me to compare as I rarely go to restaurants. Nonetheless, I'm happy to pay more for quality food. Plus, they do seem to have some offers in place like 2 for 1 pizza. Looking forward to going there again! Definitely need to try it in the summer when we can sit outside.
