A great pub and an excellent restaurant with views of a real bowling green at the back.  The food quality is consistently impressive.  I thoroughly recommend the the mixed grill !

The food is good; the ambience is very nice and there is lots of parking available.  Although the food is nice, it's quite basic, in my view, and typical of a chain pub.  The service has never disappointed and, despite its limitations, neither has the food.

We had a long walk out from the town centre for a lunchtime meal with my wife. When we walked in and waited for over 5 minutes whilst being totally ignored by 3 members of staff. There was no one at the bar and the restaurant was nearly empty. Having had to ask someone to serve us they still wondered off to find someone else. Not even an apology for the wait. We waited a little longer  then we left and had a lovely meal at The Hedgehog PH nearby.

Great and easy booking - good selection of food and drink - despite the place being rammed, wasn't kept waiting that long for food. Food was pretty good but not brilliant. Overall 7/10

This pub has been going a long time. The food seems pretty good here, despite being a very large pub. Very popular for a Friday afternoon drink with many folk dropping in after work. Great atmosphere and a good place to bump into friends
