The Trackside
"We are a bar offering a lovely range of craft ales and lagers including both cask and keg beers. You can enjoy the steam trains as they run on the East Lancashire Heritage Railway just outside. We also have a large external patio platform where you can enjoy your drinks under cover. We do wine by the glass and a range of hot and soft drinks."

A great little bar with heaps of character and a great ale lineup to try Seating available indoor and outdoor. We visited on one of the steam train dining experiences. It was busy both inside and outside, but we managed to get a table. The service was good and quick. The seating outside overlooks the tracks. The toilets are just down the platform from the bar, 50 metre walk. The prices were reasonable, 3-4 pound a pint. Some gins and spirits available along with wine and prosecco. Prosecco mini bottle was 7.75 ish. All in all a good visit
You can’t beat the combo of real ale and even though there is not much action on the East Lancashire Railway today. A fantastic selection of Cask Ales with the added bonus of CAMRA discount. Toilets are on the platform - all under cover. A great place to view the heritage railway.
Lovely meal an nice to see the steam trains coming in an going out ,nice atmosphere too with people dressing up for the different events tht they have on , will be visiting again .Food: 5/5
During my recent visit to the railway, I stumbled upon The Trackside Bar. It was a pleasant surprise, offering not only great food and drink but also an unparalleled setting. It quickly became the perfect way to end every evening. I'm already looking forward to my return, eager to savor a proper cider and burger while watching steam engines come and go. Definitely worth a visit!
Food excellent, service very good young waitress was very helpful. Beers excellent reasonably priced.well worth going to.Food: 5/5
Got a really nice craft stout and sat outside with the trains under cover from the weather. Perfect. Service was good.Service: 5/5
My recent visit to Trackside Bar was a lively and enjoyable experience. The bar had a vibrant atmosphere, with lively music and friendly patrons creating a welcoming vibe. The staff were attentive and efficient, ensuring that everyone's needs were promptly met. The drink selection was diverse, with a variety of cocktails and beers to choose from. Whether you're looking to unwind after a long day or socialize with friends, Trackside Bar is a great spot to relax and have a good time." Vegetarian options: Many vegetarian options
Was always a fantastic bar for Real Ale and Ciders, but is even better since the recent refurb. Always a friendly welcome from the bar staff. HUGE choice of Ales, Craft Beers and Ciders available both on the bar and in the fridges. Also, steam trains, if you like that sort of thing. EDIT: June 2024: Popped in yesterday as I'd not been in for a few months. I had heard from others that the pub had been going downhill and I experienced it for myself. The food we ordered was at our table about 2mins after we ordered it, and had clearly been sat pre-cooked all morning. It looked and tasted like it had been cooked on a radiator. The Blonde Pale I tried was ok, but was one of the only options as half the pumps on the bar were off. This is one of my favorite pubs in the world, and so I will be back. Hopefully the place will be back to how it used to be soon, at which point I will gladly update my review!
I have been here several times over the years and it has always had a great selection of real ale. I have also been on the steam trains for a great day out. Plenty of seating inside and out. Well worth the visit.Had a good pint of Crag from the Fell brewery. My mate had Goddards from the Isle of White. A really unusual one to find.
Been in many a time and loved the place sitting outside having an ale and some food, unfortunalty recently. it has been soured by the terrible attitude of one of the bar staff, rude, confrontaional and seems to either dislike customers or his job, with other places in Bury available and opening up I doubt I will bother the wander down anymore just to hear people being talked to like dirt or to be ignored at the pump.
