Friday afternoon drinks at the Garsdale , well recommended. We were staying at the burrs campsite so only 5 minutes away, warm and welcoming pub with friendly staff and a good atmosphere. Good selection of beers and what we saw of the food on offer looked very good, we will be back to try next time. Plenty of space in the bar area and double the space in the outdoor area. Enjoyed our afternoon thanks to all the staff .
The interior of the pub has changed since our last visit. It has lost its cosy feel as you enter, in my opinion. We sat in the rear beer garden which is large and well maintained. There is a dining area and we had a couple of meals there. The fish pie was tasty and the steak and ale pie was nice.
The kids loved the playground. I don't think I'd return for food as it was very greasy and tasted of old oil and the salad we got with our fish cake starter was on it's last legs. I'd return for a few drinks and to let the kids play though.
Couldn't book anywhere. Found this place after long drive. They took all 9 of us. Only one chef on but did a great job. Food was great. Boxing Day too.
It is mostly a pub for watching football each time we have been there it has been busy and noisy with supporters there is a dining room at the back but it is always busy so we have always had to eat in the bar/tv room. The food was good.
Lovely local pub. In a very quiet area. Great for a family meal or a drink with friends. Highly recommend
Made to feel welcome, food was good lovely modern interior outside tables front and back for better weather spacious car park just down the road from Burrs Country Park
I never leave reviews but was really impressed with the homecooked food here!
Staying at the Caravan Club Site 5 minutes walk away, so thought we would give this place a go. We sat in the restaurant section at the rear of the building, but could have sat in the Bar or outside. I had the Rag Pudding Google it with chips, mushy peas and a pot of gravy, whilst 'the boss' had Steak and Ale pie, which came with chips, mixed veg and a pot of gravy. Both meals were substantial, filling and excellent value for money at £9.95 each. Would heartily recommend!
We visit Burrs Country Park Caravan Club site regularly and this time decided to give the Garsdale a try for both food and drink. We found the staff very friendly, the surroundings very pleasant and the food and drink exceptional. The menu was especially appealling to us, not too fancy, but beautifully prepared and presented food with fresh hand cut chips - a rare find these days. Highly recommended by us.
