Lovely pub and the staff were friendly. The food however wasnt great. The cheese and onion pie was sloppy and very salty. My son couldnt eat the fish and chips and he can eat like horse. Lovely pub but they need a new chefFood: 2/5
Food was terrible but I gave two stars cos great idea to do tapas. But I don't think chefs eat their own food. Or look at how food should be cooked. No idea how to do the pork or spring rolls. I come from vhinese catering background so have some idea but also est out a lot. So going back to school would be best for them
Who was behind the bar pouring these. Usually they are excellent so I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt as it was such a nice day in Manchester. Lovely people, doesn’t disappoint normally but all things considered proper decent.Food: 4/5
Lovely atmosphere. Food delicious and nothing was too much trouble for our waitress Megan. She was helpful and very friendly and always had a smile. Definitely recommend to anyone. The photos showing the cheese and onion pie and chips and the pork loin were the small potions.
Wonderfully juicy burger in a very cosy pub. Warm service, too. One of our favourites.Food: 5/5
Always go to black bull for drinks and the food always looks so decided to experiance. When we were given the menu we also received an early dining menu. It was 2 courses for £15 and the menu choices were great. Unfortunately on arrival the portion size was noticeably small and the whole table joked about it. When I asked the waitress about it I was told they reduce the size as it is a cheaper menu. If I’d now. I would have avoided choosing it and needless to say I’m starving The food is really good and well made and the service is excellent
We finally got food and hour and 10 minutes after ordering, not worth the wait unfortunately, the pie was bland and the peas like bullets won't be coming back, although the young waiting staff were nice and told us there had been an issue with the till, none of the senior staff bothered to even apologise for the delayFood: 1/5
Just had a meal in Black Bull. Starters were fine ,main meal came ,my wife chose lasagne which was ok I chose the gammon , it arrived the gammon was tepid at best peas cold. Spoke to the waitress who was very polite she returned the food to the kitchen ,then asked me if I wanted to wait for another gammon to be cooked or choose something else, I chose steak and ale pie. While I waited my wife finished her meal ,10 minutes later my meal arrived, wedding anniversary meal ruined .Land lady finally arrived after discussion offered apology and 10percent discount. Won’t be visiting this place again and recommend giving this place a miss to avoid disappointment.
Not a big place ,all food was homecooked ,great service, first time there but will defiantly go againFood: 5/5
