The order was not delivered as we requested missing items. The roast was the worst that I had with Toby . The meat sliced was unde 125gr for a king size. was a quart of a slice not even a full slice . the piece of meat was so tiny that the chef was scrape with the knife in the metal support . I decided to bring my family here and it was a wrong decision. Mention to the chef if this is spec for meat weight .And told him how much should be for our 2 king roast/ normal beef roast and 2 kids roast the right weight . Said is about right ! He did not rectified . Portion control should be followed otherwise we rip off the guests !!! When they get like me the bill we don't pay how much we like to make it "about right"! we pay and they pay what is on the recipe . So it is important that the chefs follow the training of how to carve the meat. Should use scale for under or over portion . I understand that we can be 100%accurate but this was outrageous ! - no glaze on veg nothing -potato boiled not fully roasted or half way no recipe follow and plain - using the same knife for everything when you have lots of muslim guests! I can provide pic if you like . Overall nearly£90 bad experience . We did ask with our drinks to have some water . We have been told in the end ..."tha's fine you do not pay for it"
There was a queue out the door when we arrived, and my first thought was that the service was likely to be slow. When we got to the desk the Manager was excellent and even cleaned the table himself before seating us. The waitress we had was super efficient, helpful and had a great sense of humour, so I was very wrong to expect slow service on a busy night! As always, the carvery was excellent. I could not fault anything, particularly the price for 3 of us to eat out and have a few drinks for well under £50!
First time visiting with friends, location was beautiful and I got some lovely pictures of the views from the garden. Ben you were fantastic & efficient. I was really hungry and the carvery did not disappoint. Thank you Stewart the presentation and your interaction was great. Parking: Remember to put in your registration at the front desk.
I have eaten here many times and always had a good meal with fresh well stocked products and the meat is always pretty lean! Always manage to squeeze us in when busy. Victoria is the loveliest worker ever she’s always here when I come and she goes absolutely above and beyond to make sure you get what you need even bringing yorkshire puddings to table when waiting to be cooked she’s always get the most pleasant attitude no matter the day or time! :
Was a Sunday so expecting it to be busy. Got there a little early before our booking time. Booked in and was seated straight away. Very pleasant guy. Went to get carvery bit of a line but no more than you expect. Chose lamb and beef. Had all the usual veg but not overload. So meal was good overall, but the roast potatoes looked nice and crispy. They were actually kinda tough and rubbery on the outside. Apart from them the food was good
Absolutely amazing staff, the best allergy awareness of any food establishment I have ever been in, very thorough and non judgemental of my way of eating, which was refreshing. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal out for a relatives birthday, the music wasn't too loud, so we could actually hear each other talk. Plenty of parking, proper large, wheelchair friendly, disabled bays are actually large enough for wheelchair accessible vehicles. The ramp to the side of the steps is a bit of bump up and down, but doable. All the staff were very friendly, helpful and professional, the wheelchair lift was great, in working condition, which isn't always the case on a lot of places. The accessible toilet was actually accessible, large enough for a large electric wheelchair, and not used as a storage area. The food was impressive, the meat was well cooked, pigs in blankets were tasty, and the cream was delicious, The rest of our party enjoyed their carvery meals, vegetables and large Yorkshire puddings, as well as a honeycomb Sunday, which they loved. I would recommend the Toby Carvery in Bishopstoke, the accessibility is great, food is great and staff were absolutely fantastic. Dietary restrictions: Absolutely brilliant on allergies, the most diligent eatery I have been to. Parking: You have to remember to log your registration number on arrival, or risk getting a ticket Noticed at leased 2 disabled bays, large enough for large wheelchair accessible vehicles, which was great, much easier than a lot of places. Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp next to the steps leading from the car park. Level access into the reception area. A small lift, to take you up on to the upper level, near the carvery. Nice height tables, which fitted my electric wheelchair under easily, so I didn't have to sit at an angle, which was great. Large accessible toilet, which wasn't used for storage, so could actually get my wheelchair in. Quite impressive all round.
Had a lovely family meal here today. The carvery was really hot, fresh and tasty. Puddings were great too. We all thoroughly enjoyed the food and the service from Steph was great. Very attentive, friendly and spot on with helping navigate the allergen menu. Dietary restrictions: Staff are knowledgable and helpful, the allergen guide is clear and easy to navigate. I’ve eaten here several times and never been unwell as a result coeliac.
Food was hot, had choice of beef, lamb, turkey and gammon, nice section of veg, cauliflower cheese had no cheese or sauce but everything else fine. Table service from Sammy was excellent. All well until I tried to book for Christmas Day, Sammy said no problem see Chloe or Andrew at front of house on way out, saw Chloe who said yes but see Andrew and he turned out to be as much help as a chocolate teapot, no he couldn’t take a booking as it takes 15-20 minutes goodness knows why I explained that I tried ringing in the week but no one got back to me, no apology, then he said why could I not book on line like everyone else? At this point I gave up as couldn’t be bothered to explain that not everyone was able to do this. For front of house staff he was unhelpful, couldn’t be bothered to help and made assumptions. Andrew your staff were great, pity you let the side down which lost you stars.
Went for breakfast at 10.45am today. Everything on offer was cold: beans, bacon, tomatoes, even eggs! Only thing hot was sausages. So disappointed. Cost £20 for 2 breakfasts and I only ended up eating the toast coz it was hot.Food: 1/5
Had a really pleasant experience for my first time here. We arrived early and the lovely lady managed to get us seated half an hour early. Our waiter i am told was Will, he was so helpful and friendly and felt for him as he seemed to be looking after a really busy area with people keep calling him over. The food was hot and fresh and the atmosphere was much nicer than our local branch where is it much smaller and always very packed. Really happy with our experience, thank you!
