Lovely pub and genuinely friendly and helpful barman. A lovely range of real ales and a fantastic view over Matlock. Lovely beer garden.nThe gents toilets are.. basic.
Decided to visit this pub after arriving in Matlock on the train. Long climb up a very steep hill which took about 20 minutes walking. It was worth it. Lovely little pub with two bar rooms, and outdoor seating with fantastic views over Matlock, and out to Riber Castle. Service was welcoming and efficient, and the beer was well kept - a nice pint of Old Trip by Hardy and Hanson, along with a substantial chip butty.
Love this place, we're staying over new year and have felt so welcomed. Lovely little pub, great drinks choice and good darts! Welcoming and friendly.
Great local pub with cosy, friendly atmosphere. Quiz night, darts night, games on a Friday, sporting events on TV - or just sit & chat. The outdoor terrace in summer is beautiful to sit out on & enjoy the amazing views. Current landlord is doing an amazing job but note, as at time of typing, food is NOT served here.
Traditional pub hidden away in the upper part of Matlock. Cosy set up with cracking views out front. Greene king pub serving a few different ales. Recommended
