My friend got married here yesterday such an amazing place. Natalie is amazing and so kind and friendly. I helped my friend with her venue and Hair. I can't recommend this hotel enough it's amazing. The staff, the food the rooms amazing. The best Venue I've ever worked with for a wedding. Best communication and I listened to my friend on every detail. Highly Recommended. very friendly and accommodating. 31/12/2022.
Large car park outside was almost full when we arrived to eat one Thursday lunch time. Luckily my friend had booked a table for us. Inside the place has an eclectic feel to it. Wide range of different tables and chairs in which to sit. Good ranging menu with a separate specials menu available on the day. I ordered the fish and chips and switched the peas to garden. My friend ordered the sea bass. My chips were lovely. A decent portion and piping hot. The fish was good. Not the best I have had but still good. The garden peas were great. Minty and they must have had butter melted on them. My friend enjoyed her sea bass but, if I had ordered it, I know it would not have filled me. Food was pricey compared to other locations but good quality. But for me the portions should have been bigger for the price. However, I would visit again and, based on this visit, I would suggest you book beforehand as it was very busy even for a Thursday lunch time.
I spent a pleasant lunch time and afternoon there. Their seafood pancake is excellent. I was also looking after an elderly lady with mobility problems and managed to spill my dring on the floor and leave without my belongings. The staff were great and looked after my stuff until I could return and collect them. Must go back again some time. It's great.
The staff are fantastic and nothing is to much trouble. The food is always brilliant we prefer This amazing Pub over any other place we go to. If you want a Traditional English Pub with a wonderful welcome look no further. Merry Christmas Steve and Mary
The Tempest Arms was our wedding venue in November and it couldn't have been more perfect. From initial enquiry to leaving the day after the wedding, every staff member we've dealt with was polite, friendly, knowledgeable and genuinely interested in making our event the best it could be. We chose to get married at The Tempest Arms firstly because of how friendly, relaxed and charming the whole place is and secondly because they serve the best chocolate brownie in the whole of England. Honestly it is worth visiting just for the amazing food even if you're not looking for a wedding venue or hotel! I have to say a huge thank you to Natalie, you are beyond incredible at your job and absolutely made for your role. You made planning the wedding a total dream and it meant so much that you were a big part if it. All our guests said how wonderful the whole venue was from the ceremony room to the bar, to the food and the bedrooms and they all can't wait to visit again for a meal or an overnight stay. It was the perfect venue and couldn't have been more us if it tried. We were able to have a relaxed and fun wedding that was country and rural while being easily accessible for all topped off with Natalie always there and jumping in to help wherever and whenever needed. You made our dream a reality and made it easy and enjoyable to bring to life too. Everyone told me it would be too stressful to plan a wedding in six months but you helped me prove them all wrong! We can't thank the staff enough for making our wedding the huge success it was, we'll be back for more brownie soon! Lots of love Mr and Mrs C xxx
Great cosy pub with an amazing menu. I ordered the Sunday Roast with beef and it was delicious. The puddings are gorgeous too - the giant meringue definitely needs to be shared. Staff friendly and welcoming. Would definitely go again.
The accommodation was good, and the bar and food was brilliant. We got access through a discount scheme, and decided to stay there whilst shopping but the hotel turned in to the high-point. Breakfast the following morning was also great. Recommended. S
What a wonderful place! Amazing food and staff. I had the pleasure of shooting a wedding here and it was just lovely. The weather wasn't the best but that didn't stop the bride braving the elements.Rooms: 5/5
Great place. Easy to get to. The food was lovely. We stayed for my partners birthday. Will defo go back. Chris and his staff ran the accommodation/pub brilliantly. Jane
Fantastic welcome by staff, complimentary brownie for humans, and doggy treats for four legged companions. Cosy pub with open fire, good menu choices. We stayed in the junior suite which dog friendly. The hotel is about to start a full renovation so we will be back in June when it re-opens.
