amazing place just needs to be busierAtmosphere: 5/5
Not been here for years, the layout is quite sparse compared to having a central bar with the old vault on one side and the lounge on the other. We turned up on a Saturday afternoon and there were hardly any customers in apart from a few hardened regulars who I may say were very friendly. There was also a lovely dog roaming around that deserved a bit of fuss. Had a quick livener did some reminiscing about old times, the darts team and seeing a few footballers from times gone by in there. Hope the clientele gets increasingly bigger as time goes by. Good luck to the place, worth a visit for a non plastic Alty pub.
Came to a function here yesterday and it was great. We had the outside area so got some of the sunshine! Good selection of drinks which were reasonably priced, and the staff were very accommodating. A real gem!
Really nice recent refurb and is a good old fashioned pub. Doesn't need things up with offering food which may cost it in the long game. Nice looking outside garden which was inviting but I was only in for one drink with my dad. An institution of many years and I do like the fact that it stubbornly remains a proper boozer. A rare thing these days
The staff were fab, welcoming and friendly. Great place for a drink and have a meal. The food was exellent, came quickly and was delicious. We will be coming back very often. Highly recommended
Had a lovely meal, very reasonably priced, food came quickly and staff were brill. Would recommend the schnitzel to anyone! Wishing the new management all the best with their new venture here!
Great atmosphere. Great beer. Great food. Lovely new management who seem to be succeeding where others have failed. Give it a try, you won't regret it.
Ordered a takeaway. And WOW!! Very nice!. Tasty , well cooked and definitely worth a try. Tried all the sauces, which were excellent. Highly recommended.
Nice pub with a roaring log fire and a good atmosphere. Pool table was decent. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Good friendly place. Lovely couple running this place now. I wish then all the best. BBQ on Sunday throughout summer, great.Popular with locals.
