It is a pity that these star summaries don't get reset when the management changes. The Swan has had a rather unhappy history of managers in the past few years, as the reviews will show, but since the present manager took over (September 2017) I have heard only good things of this pub. So today at lunch time I decided to try it out for myself. I discovered that he has introduced a reduced price (£6) lunch for pensioners on Mondays and Tuesdays, of which I was able to take advantage. The choice was the normal lunch time menu, which was rather limited, and bizarrely included 'Full English Breakfast'! I chose the ham, eggs and chips. I was warned that the quantity was smaller than normal, but I needn't have worried! I got a plateful which included a sizeable piece of ham, half an inch thick, two nicely cooked eggs, chunky chips, and salad. No complaints! The eating area was otherwise empty, but the bar had the usual complement of locals, and I joined in their friendly banter. Two real ales were on offer. The landlord has also introduced a loyalty card, which for a mere £10/year, entitles you to half-price on all food consumed (except bar snacks). This seems like a good deal. Worth giving this pub a try.

Good food, reasonable price, but not cheap. Good staff - the manager is very positive. Possibly understaffed, but that was more a result of the staff spending time looking after the diners. Overall, a very sensible place to go for a meal.

Stopped for lunch at this pub overlooking the river. Nice service and good large portions of typical English pub food. Interesting beers too.

My partner and I did the steak night on Tuesday. The steak melted in the mouth. Service was brilliant . Two Steak meals with a bottle of wine for less than £27.AMAZING. Definitely going again.
