The Airman Hotel

We attended a funeral wake here, so my experience is pretty limited. Aside from our party it didn't seem to be that busy for a Thursday lunchtime. The bar areas looked a little unloved somehow, but I'm quite prepared to accept it didn't catch me on a good day.

A nice hotel, the staff and service are excellent, the food is great. We visit here annually and this is our preferred hotel to stay at. Rooms are clean and tidy, bathrooms too. Special dietary needs are catered for with ease, the kitchen staff are really helpful with this. The location is ideal for the big knitting event that takes place at Ampthill each year being about 8 miles away. The road can be noisy however, the roundabout is a junction between the A507 and A600 and attracts a lot of kids with loud exhausts. As that's the worst I can say then then it's a really nice friendly hotel to be honest.

Booked into the restaurant had Sunday roast and it was cold. Roast potatoes were not cooked enough.dinner came up way to quickly so I knew it must be already sitting there ready in the kitchen. Very disappointing really. No atmosphere either. Won't be eating here again. Sad really as staff are nice and friendly.

Lovely, sizeable rooms, and it's a great location with easy access (by car) to all the towns and cities in the area. Would recommend

Attended for a wake. Plenty of parking. Staff I saw were plesant and helpful.
