We went on a busy day without reservation and we have been lucky that we got a table. Staff have been friendly, you can feel the Christmas spirit all around. Best nachos ever! So delicious. Other then that 4 of us had different dishes and all of us after the main have been full and happy. Really good prices too.
We have been to Swan Inn a few times, most recent visit it seemed like they had upped their game... its not fine dining, but it is good value and child friendly. Food is generally good and portion sizes are pretty good. Pub itself could do with a lick of paint here and there... Menu is varied with some slightly odd options - includes a burger meal with a rainbow bun and Vimto flavouring...!
Came to visit on Mother's day with family, and it was fantastic service from start to finish. Food was great, arrived promptly, lots of choice on the menu etc, but it was the outstanding, warm and friendly service from every member of staff from the bar to the tables that made it for us. We were so impressed, especially on an extra busy day like that, it was seamless.
It is a nice ambience and atmosphere, polite staff, I gave 4 stars as it was low on the vegetarian menu, ordered a meatless burger meal but they had none, a friend ordered fish and chips but they had none. I wished they had a wider variety of vegetarian and vegan menu. The cocktail was nice, price is very reasonable. Clean toilets, clean environment, accessible car park and outdoor sitting area, nice rustic decor. Will definitely recommend the Swan Inn.
The steak was good, and the chips were good, but my kids' mash was stodgy with a bit of a brown colour. Not sure if it had been microwaved or just left on the side for a long time. Their carrots were also much too hard to eat. And the gravy was missing; despite reminding the staff, it still never arrived.
Called in on the off chance and they juggled the tables to fit us in. Had lovely huge regular sized Sunday lunch. Highly recommended. Thank you.
We went for Christmas Dinner really lovely food and amazing service. Staff were lovely only issues was it was very warm and we couldn't turn the radiator down but was a minor issue. They were lovely with the children aswell and very tolerant of the mess my toddler made while enjoying his Christmas lunch.
Huge Compliments to the chef yesterday for serving my family and i a wonderful Christmas Dinner. It was a perfect meal especially the roast potatoes! The service and staff were very attentive and I did thank them before I left but was sorry I did not thank the chef personally. I would definitely recommend a Christmas Day lunch here and would return. Well done to you All you totally deserve a good review especially when you have to give up your special time to serve others. Thankyou!
Not very pleasant. Eaten here about 5 times. Usually very happy but today our breakfasts very disappointing. We complained to the manager. I ordered waffles with sausage, berries and syrup. Some diced crisp waffle arrived with bits of sausage, no visible syrup and had to ask for the berries. When asked for some syrup was told it was on there. I asked for me then and told had to pay 50p for it and to come to the till. I couldn't be asked to leave the food to sort it. Our friends had large breakfasts which they said were fairly cold, black pudding rock hard again even though told them beforehand it was over cooked last time. Grilled Tom not cooked enough. Very disappointing. Manager arranged a refund. We've been put off of returning.
Positives first. Booked for a group of 14 and was well accommodated and flexible when only 7 turned up. Food was hot and decent portion sizes. Negatives.... can't buy a single glass of red wine, only a bottle. Couldn't order advertised mulled wine or Old Speckled Hen non alcoholic, ran out of fish and lasagne. Was rather embarrassed by the whole thing and won't be returning
