Decent place to take the kids, cheap and quick to get some scran. Not a posh place or a date night location. Even though plenty of couples knocking about giving daggers to all the kids everywhere. Definitely a family location. Food is amazing, drinks served on time. No complaints, staff were friendly and there to help. Ice cream is a winner with the Kids.
wonderful service as always. Great atmosphere and tasty menu. Just one concern was that the Yorkshire puddings were not cook enough in the centre and they were quite greasy. Usually, they are cooked to perfection. I am a regular customer dining at least three times a month with family. The new decorations refurbishment is very nice and makes the place look clean and more modern. It seemed much lighter and wide around the food counter area. Well done to the staff as it was really busy, but they still gave a great service.
Great food, really friendly staff. We did have to cancel our sides/starter of bacon wrapped sausages as they still hadn't arrived when we finished our food. A few of our group were also disappointed that there was no lamb. Booking online was easy and straight forward. The parking was great and accessible for our disabled family member. Over all a tasty and enjoyable meal.
Was charged more for taking extra at a bottomless roast. I wanted to share a roast with my mum, as she wasn't feeling particularly hungry. When we entered we were informed that it was bottomless veg not meat. Had a meager 2 cuts of meat, despite the menu saying 3 would be given. Once I asked for the bill I got charged an extra £6.50, because I was sharing, and went too many times to get vegetables. I went 3 times, because I wanted to to try different things, and to keep things warm while I ate. It's meant to be bottomless!! Not only that, but I was not informed of the extra charge until I got the bill. As it was a managers decision I was unable to dispute it. This is not professional. I was recommended by a friend, and was let down by staff members. I do not recommend and will not be going again to this carvery.
Great verity of meat and veg. Shame you're not allows a sausage unless you upgrade your plate size?? Amazing Yorkshire Puds...... as always. Both boys loved the mac cheese, especially nice to have that as an option for my vegetarian son. Roast potatoes where hard tho, needed longer in the oven. No bread sauce : Lots of seats were split which really brought the place down....... actually put a friend of mine off going again after our previous visit. I hoped the chairs would have been replaced/covered by now?? Lovely friendly staff. Would have liked to have been advised that a bottle of Coke is only 10p less than the unlimited refills when we ordered.
The experience is largely enjoyable except my wife had to wait too long for her order of salmon and spinach Wellington. We're almost all finish of our carvery mains before her mains arrived and after following up twice. Staff are friendly, restaurants clean and the food was lovely. It was also the first we went at Toby's and we had to ask how to order the carvery mains because there is nowhere in the menu how many types of meat we can get or if we can come back for more meats like normal buffet style meals. It can be better explained in the menu.
The food was nice, but refills for some of the dishes at the buffet was needed but there was no one to ask apart from the man carving the meat who was busy so we felt that we weren't able to enjoy all we wanted to eat. The glasses and cutlery wasn't the cleanest. The table was sticky and the decor very dated. Two of the puddings we wanted weren't available so we had to have another choice. One of these being on the offer menu 2 courses for £9.99 so we had to chose a full price pudding, which bumped the price of our meal up! The waitress didn't smile and wasn't very welcoming. So all in all not the best experience really, not sure we would come back.
Fab food and great for vegetarians £7.24 for veg only Wednesday lunchtime. Staff lovely too. Highly recommend the food. Only downside was the door for the kitchen kept banging loudly right behind our table, every time someone came out of the kitchen which was every 20 seconds or so. When I reported this to the duty manager so they could adjust it for future diners, she seemed more interested in reeling off dozens of excuse about why they won’t be able to do anything about it, than actually taking my feedback and working out what could be done which is actually just a small adjustment to the door closer arm. Lousy response from this duty manager.
Everything you'd expect from a good ol' Toby's - great food, with delicious, tender roasted meat and tasty veg. Although there was a bit of a queue at the serving station, I did go on a Sunday and the food was well worth the wait. The only complaint I have is that when it was my turn to be served for food, the Yorkshire puddings which were left were quite small and more like pancakes, and just as my plate was handed back to me after being served some meat a big batch of wonderfully puffy Yorkshire puddings were brought out which I'd just missed out on ! But otherwise, a wonderful meal which I'd recommend to anyone.
Service was ok, takes a while to be seated though even when booked. Maybe it would be better if the person taking your details didn’t have to also take you to your seat at busy times? Could another member of the team do that and take the drinks order? Also our drinks didn’t arrive until we had almost finished our meal, seemed pointless having it by then really. Putting the drinks issue to one side, food was so good, hot and plenty to choose from.
