Fantastic pub, brilliant location with amazing views from the beer garden. We asked the Star to cater for a party of 24 people for a 3 course Sunday roast. 24 people thought their roast was one of the best in memory and the service was faultless with all wishes catered for and all courses brought at exactly the same time. Highly recommended

Who doesn't love a proper country pub (that's not owned by Brains).

A sad story really. Visitors from a decade or more ago will remember this as a vibrant cultural hub. Today it feels like an enterprise being run into the ground. Flat atmosphere and forgettable food means this once popular venue can no longer compete with much stronger local competition.

Sunday lunch. By 2.00pm food dried up. Surrounded by used grubby tables. Cold in the pub, doors wide open. Used to be good.

The food and reception we received were really good. The pub itself is a little rough around the edges but all in all we had a nice time, with nice food and good beer.
