Story

We have lovingly restored this inn back to it's former glory. Our newly refurbished en suite rooms are very comfortable and 4* Visit Wales accredited all of our dishes are created from first principles by passionate, experienced chefs led by Peter Hulsmann and our selection of real ales & ciders is the best for miles around. Lee and his team look forward to welcoming you.

First visit for me although my partner had been before as a musician on one of the jam nights. Had a meal last night which we really enjoyed. The menu included so many delicious sounding ingredients, we found it difficult to make a choice. Everything was cooked and presented beautifully. The Hotel is clean and decorated simply but tastefully and has a friendly, welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. We found the staff very friendly and welcoming. I think we are going to have to return soon to sample the rest of the menu.

The food here is absolutely top quality and the staff are very helpful. As an example, we ate out with our 12 week old son today who was a little unsettled. The staff kindly bought out our meals separately so my husband and I were able to soothe our little boy and both enjoy a hot meal. This is our restaurant of choice for the local area. We have never had any food here below an excellent standard. I can not recommend this place highly enough!

Really nice lunch here. Travelling from Cheshire to Cardiff. Found the place via Google maps and what a good find! Many choices on a varied lunch menu. I had the fish pie which was tasty and good value. Others had bacon sandwiches (huge) and fish and chips, similarly substantial in size and well cooked. Service was timely and friendly. Well worth a visit and just a couple of minutes from the main road to Newport and Cardiff

Came here the other night for open mic with the band. Was not made to feel welcome at all and infact felt like the owner wanted us out lol. Maybe due to our dress or look. We all felt the same so was not just me. Ended up playing and enjoyed that bit of the night so was not all bad

The food is wonderful, staff very friendly, the room was very nice, a great breakfast in the morning. A lovely fire to sit by and chill, would defenetly recommend.
