Highly recommend coming here, we had a lovely evening last night. We booked at very short notice but they kindly arranged a table for us and I also have food allergies and I was able to select my chosen meal from the menu and it was prepared with ingredients to accommodate my allergies so I had the same dish, very delicious. Will definitely be returning very soon, thank you
Stopped off on our way home, for Sunday lunch.We hadn’t booked, the lovely lady behind the bar offered us a table. The food was exceptional & great service too. We will certainly be returning. Thank you for your hospitality.
Beautiful old pub, easy to find and accessible. Lovely warm welcome, great service throughout our visit. We were a luncheon club of about 20 people but that didn't seem to phase anybody. We agreed that the portions were small but all tasted good. Would visit again
Had a great meal here to celebrate my Daughters Birthday. As always the food was first class. The owners had gone the extra mile and hung a happy birthday banner over our table. Have had several meals here, and never been disappointed. Nice and warm, comfortable restaurant.
Great old pub, friendly staff and good food. Not a great selection of ales. Very nice outdoor area. Worth a visit Walkability: Surrounding countryside is absolutely spectacular, plenty of good walks.

Having traveled for over an hour to have lunch at this establishment on Tuesday 28/2/23, based on the information on the website, we were somewhat annoyed to find that the place was closed on a Tuesday and nobody had bothered to update the website. Went to the Bell in Chittlehampton which nearby, open and very welcoming and excellent beer and food.
Lovely old pub,came for my birthday with some friends, we all thought the Sunday roast's were all nice,only down side was the size of the puddings and the service was a little slow,I understand they were busy,but if both negatives didn't happen,I would have given 5 stars,I would still recommend visiting the pub
Stopped here for lunch on a Saturday, it was lovely. Sat by the lake watching the fish with good beer and excellent food, the homemade fish cakes were delicious. Staff are great and the pub being dog friendly is a bonus. Well worth a detour if you are passing near by.
Just came back from another amazing lunch here. We holiday in Devon every year and found this pub 4 years ago. Although it’s 45 minutes from where we stay we always make an effort to visit here and come here every year. The food is always nice quality and the pub really feels special. My husband is vegan and he always enjoys his meal too. We’ve never had a bad time there!
