The Stables is always a favourite place for me to eat. Not only do they do superb food but they are good for entertainment events. Very professional. It is a lovely location.

This place used to be a fairly mediocre steak restaraunt, kind of like a Berni Inn and you can still see a bit of that heritage in the layout of the place but I am glad to say that under new management it has taken a considerable step up and serves good tasty food at fair prices. The staff are friendly and it is a very pleasant place for a casual meal - my family hasn't here a number of times in the last 6 months - the braised cheek of beef melts in the mouth and the sweets are lovely and not bought in. If I have any criticisms - and they are minor - the background music selection is sometimes not what I would chose to aid digestion- but you can always ask the staff to turn the volume down - and the cutlery could do with a bit of updating, something a bit better quality and more substantial would be more in keeping with the quality of the food. All in all a good quality unfussy menu in pleasant suuroundings, great for a casual dinner with your partner, or a family lunch or night out.

It's a beautiful restaurant with a homey feel esp when the fire is going in the main room during peak times. A very convenient location in groomsport close to a historical cottage and the sea to watch on a pretty day. Yummy food and good service

Only visited in mornings but consistently good food at decent price. Friendly staff often on hand for coffee refills and great country atmosphere.
