A proper country pub, a pub that understands food, food which is quality and served at a good price. Everything was cooked to perfection. Real rare beef with perfect roasted gravy. Roasted vegetables and greens. Service was fast and it's nice to see the younger generation being employed. As a designated driver I couldn't enjoy the cocktail menu but the rest did, all were amazing! Pudding was light, just perfect after a good roast. The sticky toffee pudding was on point, it could only be made better with Cornish clotted cream. If anyone follows my reviews on TA then I tell the truth, brutally sometimes but always give the restaurant the chance. This needed no intervention and is one of the best food pubs I've been to.
We were very lucky to call up at 12 and get a table for Sunday lunch and it was our first time here. The roast was absolutely stunning and the service was great too! I personally love dogs and I think it’s a lovely dog friendly pub! Will definitely be coming here again soon.
A lovely relaxed hidden gem of a pub/restaurant. Varied menu to suit all tastes. Staff very friendly and helpful. Will definitely return !!

Really great restaurant with great atmosphere and really good service that stands above the rest. The food choice and quality that our 4 person group had was very good. Loved it and would return again tomorrow if I could.
Excellent as always, we have eaten here twice in quick succession and i would recommend the scotch egg...will be back soon
Wonderful Sunday lunch here today. We managed 2 course from 3. One of us is vegan and both the kitchen and waiting staff were well prepared for me explaining what I could have from the set menu and offering alternatives that were not listed also. Although they do not offer a nut roast I could have chosen 2 dishes to accompany a roast garnish and a risotto, spicey bean burger etc. Dessert was a delicious berry and apple crumble to which they whipped up a coconut cream to go with it. Very hospitable and accommodating. They make a fuss out of and treat every dog that comes through the door
Lovely Gastropub with food that is perfectly cooked. My only complaint is that some portions are huge, and others very small and you have to guess this on the menu. Maybe a light mains section would be good so you can make an informed choice. If you’re hungry and in the mood for something tasty go for the fish and chips though without a doubt!
